Hey everyone,
I'm back home on the Gold Coast now after riding the Narrogin Revheads comp over in WA, which was a great event, I just wish it wasn't so far away!
The set-up over there was sweet, with two 75ft ramps, a poppy 65ft ramp and a small dirt hit, as well as a wall ride which was my favorite part of the course.
Saturday came round and the wind didn't drop all day, so we had to wait untill night to hold the first round of qualifiers and the big air comp. Clinton Moore killed it in big air, throwing out a sweet 360 nac and getting the win. I followed Clint in a what I thought was a whip train after big air finished, but the crazy bastard pulled a 360 right in front of me! Scared the hell outa me, but looked bloody cool!
Believe it or not, we all rocked up Sunday and there was no wind! We got straight in the second qualifier, and the results from both the two runs were added up to get the starting position for the final.
I was stoked to qualify in forth, the first of the non-flippers. We got into the finals and I managed to pull my best run of the weekend, so I was happy and confident of keeping fourth place. The big dogs came out after me and it really could have gone to any one of them, but in the end Adelberg just pipped Sheeny for the win. Sheeny did throw a massive ruler flip in his run which was pretty impressive.
Fourth place was enough for me to lock up the Freerider MX rider of the year award, so it was a trip worth while! See a bunch of pics now over at the Freerider site.
Cheers Joe
