That's right! FMX is back at the Dew Tour after almost 2 years on hiatus, and with a bit of luck it will be sticking around for a full season next year. This can only mean good news for all the riders and fans, who have been only left with 2 major contests (X-Fighters and X Games) since the Dew Tour unexpectedly pulled the plug on FMX at the end of 2008.
Admittedly, this weekends rundown of riders is a bit slim thanks to so many injuries and prior commitments, but there will still be some quality riders, and perhaps the lack of big names (Bilko, Sherwood, Maddo, Adams) will present some more opportunity for the up and comers. Adam Jones and Mike Mason will headline, accompanied by Twitch, Faisst, Adelberg, Higashino and Jim McNeil. For a full report on this weeknds FMX comp, head over to ESPN.COM/ACTION.
In other Dew Tour news, it is going to be the 2nd last of the year for the BMX guys, and Unit team riders Jaie Toohey and Nate Berkheimer will be on hand to rep the Unit flag. Nate is fresh back from injury, so it will be interesting to see how he handles the contest, but he is very very consistent and if he is riding, then chances are good that he will be throwing it all down. Jaie Toohey has been riding awesome all year, but has had a bit of tough luck. He is coming near the end of his 2010 USA stay, so he will be keen to prove a point and step up his game this time around. Fellow team rider Cam White is out with injury, and will be coming back to Australia in the coming weeks, to continue his recovery and begin work on the 2011 Hillside Dirtjam. David Girsch has also had a great year in the USA, but due to Visa issues he has been forced back to Australia, and will miss the rest of the Dew Tour.
Stay tuned to the Unit blog and Facebook for regular updates, and also the Alli Sports webpage for videos and more.
