Cam White is itching to get back on his feet again and do what he does best - shred dirt jumps. PHOTO: Simon Makker
We just received an email from BMX legend Cam White with an update on his knee injury. Check it out.
The past few weeks I’ve had a fair few visitors in town, which has definitely helped me get off the couch and taken my mind of my knee injury. If you hadn’t heard I tore my meniscus a few weeks ago, so I’ve had to sit the rest of the year out dealing with that and my already torn ACL.
The Unit boys rolled in to Vegas a few days after my surgery. It was awesome kicking it with them, but it was pretty uncomfortable being out and about so fresh off surgery and on pain meds.
After they left my mate from Australia, “Little Chris” Harty, flew in and hung out and shredded Lav’s yard for a few days, then Cam Pianta's parents, Brian and Chris, also stopped by for a few days.
Not long after they left, the Unit boys returned and I was feeling a lot better this time. I was off the pain pills and it was easier for me to do some fun stuff with them.
Since all our visitors have left I’ve been getting stuck into rehab. I can now bend it 104 degrees on the machine, but my quad muscle hurts a lot when it gets stretched out. In a week from today I’ll be able to finally bend my leg on my own, and in another three weeks I’ll be walking with my leg locked in the knee-brace to help build my quad.
I can’t wait to be able to bend it on my own. We head back to Australia on September 23rd, and I’m looking forward to getting home, hanging out, building new stuff at my jumps and getting ready for Cam’s Jam in February. See you soon!
