Hey guys, been a while since my last update but it’s been a pretty full on couple of months!
Started off with the Mudgee round of the AUFMXC, where to be honest I rode like shite but they had a quarter pipe for dirt bikes there, the first one in Aus, and the thing was sick! I spent most of the weekend sessioning that, it was pretty daunting at first but I started getting a feel for it as the weekend went on. I want to try to get down there again soon start getting some good height out of it, it’s a cool feeling.
Next up after that was a quick trip to China with ARD for a demo at a round of the Chinese MX champs. It was a real cruisy trip, there were six of us going over to ride plus Dion and Bushy from ARD so we had a good crew going. Mitch McHardy from NZ had a bit of a spill first jump but apart from that everything ran smooth and we all got out of there in one piece. Got to see which of the boys have mad karaoke skills too!
I was only back from China for a few days when it was time to head to the hospital with the missus, as the time had come for our little boy to meet the world. Hudson was born on the 28/10 and so far he’s going great. It’s an amazing experience being a Dad and now I’m lucky enough to have two beautiful children, a boy and a girl, and I couldn’t be happier.

Other than having another child, the other big adjustment I’ve had to make lately is switching brands from Kawasaki to Yamaha! The guys at JC Epidemic have been great and thanks to them I’ll soon be on a new YZ450F, and I can’t wait to get on it and start hitting the ramps. I’ve been riding a YZ250F for a few weeks and just did my first show with the team, and so far the bikes and the whole set is awesome, I couldn’t be happier. Big thanks to Yamaha and the JC crew for hooking me up!
Last of all I just want to give my thoughts to Dane Searles and his family, it is a heartbreaking situation. I’ve got to hang out with Dane at the last two Farm Jam events and he is honestly one of the nicest and down to earth people you will ever meet. R.I.P Dane.
Cheers,
Joe
