Unit team rider Kyle Chisholm suffered major injuries in a big crash at the Houston round of Supercross. After months off the bike, he finally has the chance to ride again, and look forward to the 2011 MX outdoors season.
We caught up with Kyle for a few words, and to check out his form on the bike after so long on the sidelines.

Coming off a long winter and not being able to ride in my home town of Williams Lake B.C, I found myself itching to get the season going.
There are a few zones south of Williams Lake that get a lot of sun and could be dry and rideable. I made plans to scope the new zones in hopes to find the goods for my upcoming projects in the 2011 season.
While we were exploring we snagged a couple shots to give you a little taste of what we found. I will be on the road filming for the video webseries, Stund!
We are currently in the third season and be sure to keep your eyes peeled for Episode One airing soon.

Crazy-steep line fraught with baby-head rocks and imminent danger? Sounds good - let's buckle up

James Doerfling drops in, calm as you like. Stay tuned for his webisodes in the third series of Stund coming soon!

First off I'm totally over this whole "getting dark early" business. As far as I'm concerned there are two seasons to the year. Summer and Winter and that's it. Daylight Savings ending means it's winter.
But anyways enough of my useless rant. Last month has been pretty busy for me; I ended up getting asked by John Buultjens at Pilgrim if I could get something shot on street for the new Pilgrim BMX ad. I'm not really being a street guy, but I went out a bunch of times to see if I could make it happen. Street dudes are troopers !The amount of times the spot was either shut down by people being there or me getting broke off made me think it was never going to happen. It literally took us two weeks and a bunch of different spots and a dislocated bone in my hand to get it done and have something usable. I'm so stoked that it turned out alright and we got the shot. Thanks to Sam Waite for being the shutter guy!

Since my jeans just recently released one of the local stores in my hometown asked me if I would like to do a instore signing and organised with Unit to get the day happening. I felt a little shy doing something like this in my hometown, as I'm sure heaps of people still think of me as a ratty 15-year-old roaming the streets hah.. But heaps of kids came along and hung out which was great!!
Unit also gave me a bunch of posters and stuff to give away so everybody was stoked! It's a pretty surreal feeling finally seeing my jeans in store after talking about them for so long! A big thanks goes out to One Zach Benalla and the team there for having me in. It was definitely a bunch of fun!

That afternoon a long-time mate of mine, Mitchell Stafford, was back home and asked me if i would mind helping him out for a folio piece he was working on for Uni. I was super keen to shoot a 1ft Euro on the 6ft quarter in Benalla, so we headed down and got it done. Basically the whole montage shows me turning up getting ready and riding and then leaving aswell. I thought it came up sweet, so I thought I would include it.
And I guess that's about it at the moment - Easter is on the way so that should be a good time away and hopefully you all get some riding or fun in over the long break! Next week I think i will be shooting some photos with Stevie McCann; I'm pretty pumped on that as well!
Alright until next time Go ride

The Unit Farm Jam recently went down in the deep south of New Zealand.
Kiwi shredder Paul Langlands claimed the win for the second year in a row. Christchurch's Jake Prebble finished second, Anthony Napolitan third and Jed Mildon fourth.
The course is made up of 2 lines, the first is full of hips and was definitely the favourite on the day, while the 2nd was a straight run of big hits which finished with a big dirt quarter pipe.
Riders included Dane Searls, Cam Pianta, Anthony Napolitan, Paul Langlands, Jed Mildon, Jake Prebble and more.

Kiwi MTB hucker Kelly McGarry sent us a bit of an update on what he's been up to recently, but the thing that blew our minds more than anything else was this crazy covershot that's about to drop on New Zealand MTB magazine Spoke. McGazza has balls the size of those crazy Zorb contraptions.
Anyways, here's what McGazz had to say about his NZ Summer coming to an end, and what he's looking forward to in Canada.
The clocks are turned back and the cold is coming in as my New Zealand summer draws to a close. It's been another kickass summer down here: massive amounts of riding and roasting the Barbie, a few comps, some fiming and plenty of photo shoots. I also hit the opening of the Queenstown gondola, which is ramping New Zealand up to be a pretty damn sweet northern hemisphere off-season MTB destination.

McGarry conquers the amazing Gorge Road playground in Queenstown.
The NZ season started a bit pear-shaped for me when I broke my collarbone early on a big ol' jump, but I was pretty lucky with the timing and only JUST healed in time for NZ's biggest two-wheeled action-sports event, the Unit Farm Jam, where I placed third . I was pretty stoked on that since my collarbone was still kinda gooey haha! Check the vid here.
Some French guys came over to film with me and we made a web edit, which was a lot of fun. You can check out some of my Emmy Award-winning acting in a clip titled Sweet As Bro. It scored Video Of The Day on Pinkbike and has had 140,000 views altogether!
I lived in Queenstown for two months. As usual it was awesome and I will be heading back next summer, but right now I'm back in my hometown of Nelson and in the process of packing all my gear and bikes ready to head to the Northern Hemisphere for another season of riding and mayhem.
First stop will be Sea Otter, followed by a filming trip to Southern Utah with my new frame sponsor team Diamondback. From there I head to Whistler to set up base, from where I'll head out to comps and trips for the rest of the season. IT SHOULD BE RADICAL!
See you out there

Kelly takes in the Queenstown serenity one last time before packing his bags for his Northern Hemisphere summer. Good luck bro!
Widely known and respected for his huge extension and incredible trick repertoire, the 25-year-old has competed on the world’s biggest stage – the X Games – over the past two years, as well as regularly landing on top of the podium at the IFMXF World FMX Championships.
Fresh off a hectic 12-stop Nuclear Cowboyz tour that wrapped up in Texas on the weekend, Wilson is excited to join forces with Unit.
“I’m so pumped to have joined the Unit team,” the Massachusetts-born ripper says.
“The clothing and designs are sick and they’re not afraid to be a bit controversial at times.
“The company is taking the US industry by storm and it’s exciting to be a part of such a fast-growing brand.”
Unit founder Paul Everest welcomed Wilson to the fold.
“Brody is one of the best FMX riders in the world and the amazing thing is he’s still getting better,” he says.
“We’re stoked to have him join the team. He is a perfect fit for Unit and we look forward to a long and successful partnership with him.”
Wilson is now preparing for the six-stop Extreme Freestylers Rock ‘N’ Ride Tour through Europe that starts on April 30, before he turns his focus to grabbing a FMX medal at X Games 17 on July 28-31.

Unit's Olympic BMX hopeful Caroline Buchanan has come through the first round of the 2011 BMX Supercros World Cup at South Africa with some valuable points in the bag, depsite crashing in the grand final race.
Buchanan was making a pass for a podium position in the final turn when she collided with Frenchwoman Magalie Pottier and went down.
She remounted and finished the race in fifth place, while fellow Australian Lauren Reynolds wasn't so lucky and was forced to DNF the race.
From this race until June 2012 all races count towards points for Caroline in her bid to make the London Olympics next year. Only two girls will make the cut, so every race result means a valuable points collection for the Canberra girl.
Congrats, Caroline! All the best for the next round.

Ever wondered what it is like to be a ridiculously hot Unit model, appearing on tees, busses, billboards, air-fresheners and the minds of millions of people around the world? We sent your questions to the beautiful Kat to find out:
Do I have to be able to backflip 150 ft to have you?
Hmm, while being able to backflip 150 is impressive, I'd like to think there’s more to it than that... you could always give it a try and see what happens ;)
What’s it like to be a model?
It's pretty cruisy to be a model, as specially for UNIT. Going to a shoot with UNIT is more like going to a pool party.... one that gets out of hand and ends with a bike in the pool.
What helped you along your journey to get to where you are today?
Just meeting the right people, the guys at UNIT are great guys to know with great ideas. Just trusting that they know what they are doing and going along with their crazy ideas... it can be a little scary at times but always pays off!
What made you want to become the model for a Moto, BMX, FMX (being Unit of course) over any other company?
I've always been a big believer in pushing the boundaries and trying things that others might stray from, i think that UNIT is a company that wont be bullied into doing what's "right" according to someone else. They do what everyone wants to, but might be too scared to. Not much point in living life if your doing it by someone else’s rules!
What do think when you are out shopping, driving down the road etc, and see yourself on clothes, boardies, air-fresheners etc?
No matter how many times i see myself on merchandise or the side of a bus it still brings a smile to my face.
Are you going to Europe or America anytime soon?
I don’t have any official plans to go but i would LOVE to get back overseas soon. Come to think of it, i hear the UNIT riders are heading over soon....hint hint, I'm totally small enough to fit in someone’s bag ;)
Would you ever do a girl on girl shoot to have the pics put on t shirts?
Totally! If people want to see it on shirts, i see no reason why not!
Have you ever milked a cow?
Well that’s different, Im happy to answer all questions though! Yes i have, it was in kindergarten when my class took a field trip to a farm! Ah the memories!
While in Australia for the Nitro Circus live tour, Wheelz dropped into Unit HQ to catch up with the crew.
We pulled him aside to get the latest update on his time in Australia, and what it is like to tour with the world's most popular action sports crew.

Hello everyone,
It has been an eventfull, interesting and challenging to say the least start to the year. Like most people and businesses in Queensland, it has been a challenge to return to normality since the floods disaster.
Our house suffered minor damage compared to most others, but it is an ongoing task trying to get it fixed up and bloody stressful too. It has also taken a long time for the ground to dry up enough so i could move machines around and fix up my tracks, jumps and courses.
I finished it all off this week and now the place looks tip top again and ready for use, just in time for some new pictures to be taken for my new segment in Freerider MX Magazine. Instead of my column, which has been a part of the mag since 2006, I will now be doing the Ride Like A Pro segment which covers a double page spread every issue with pictures and step-by-step guides into how to perform some of the more difficult tricks and aspects of our sport.
The big topic at the moment, and what has the whole moto industry abuzz, and what has been attraction a lot of media coverage, is the offroad riding park facility we are working on.
Just to clear a up some misconceptions, it is not my own park like a lot of people are thinking, I am just a part of it. Motorcycling Queensland are the tender of the facility, and because this is such a large operation we have formed a partnership between businesses.
Ray Buchanan (Australian Dirt Bike Adventures), Steve Sommerfeld (Invert Management) and myself (Motosolutions) are working with MQ to construct this new facility. We worked feverishly through March to acheive our goal of holding a test ride day at the property open to the public, so we could perform sound tests around the property and sensitive areas nearby under actual riding conditions. The day was a great success and we recieved great feed back from those that attended. Attached is the release about the day.
After my successfull trip to deep south NZ were I picked up second place at the Farm Jam (check the video) I returned home and headed for Gatton, were I performed at a fund raiser for the flood relief in the area. I also had a show at Cooyar, alongside a round of the Australian rodeo championships - it was something else to see i tell ya!!! I then hit the MX track and trails at the ride park test day to mix with the riders there and to get their feedback on the place so far.
Steve Sommerfeld and I are holding a coaching clinic in Perth WA, it was scheduled for April but the track builder suffered some servere injuries and we have now pushed the date back to June/July. Doing this has now opened up an oportunity for me to plan a trip I have wanted to do for years. We are going to road-trip from Boonah to Perth, arriving for the coaching day. (Depending on dates and confirmations, maybe stopping in at the Finke Desert race along the way) Then travel north from Perth to a new sand dune system that has been found, then down south to Esperance to ride the dunes there.
Iwill also be stopping in at sponsors, riding spots and Aussie sights along the way.I am in talks with Unit now about filming the entire trip and flying in camera guys for the big ride sessions at the dunes. My TV episode is pretty jam packed as it is, so this trip very well might end up being its own episode.. It is only early in the planning stages so I will keep you updated as it progresses.
Thanks
