On 28 May 2011 Unit BMX rider Jed Mildon attempted and successfully landed the first-ever Triple Backflip on a bike in his hometown of Taupo, New Zealand. In just three days the videos of Jed's incredible achievement have reached almost 4 million views online, cementing his name into action-sports folklore.
This new video takes you behind the scenes of the whole project to give you an idea of the commitment it's taken Jed to accomplish the Triple Backflip. Jed might've made the final successful jump look easy, but what it has taken him to reach that point is far from it. NZ rider Jake Prebble joins Jed at the main event, and throws down some massive front flip tricks as well.

That's IT! We can't keep it a secret anymore! Tomorrow Unit BMXer Jed Mildon is holding a massive event in Taupo, New Zealand called the Unit T3 Mindtricks BMX Jam, where he and a handful of NZ's gnarliest riders will be throwing the biggest tricks they can off what is arguably the world's biggest super-ramp set-up!
During the event Jed is going to attempt to change the face of two-wheeled action-sports as we know it by attempting a world's first, and the Guinness Book Of World Records will be on hand to give it the seal of approval. While there is one trick in particular that will smash the limits of what is possible, there is potentially several tricks that will be thrown that have never been landed before.
The boys have been practising for months for this day, and tomorrow's event is going to be the climax to all their hard work. A massive 18m roll-in has been built into the side of a hill in Spa Park specifically for this event, and the take-off ramp they're using is an FMX-inspired super-kicker that will lead to a 43ft step-up to a "Mega-Mega Box".

Over the past three days Jed and his gang have been practising onto an airbag (above, potos courtesy of airbag.co.nz) and have got their tricks dialled... but check the height NZer Hugh Weatherspoon is boosting on this Front-flip!
Keep your eyes and ears peeled, everyone, because we're hoping by tomorrow afternoon the face of action-sports will be changed forever by a humble Kiwi lad with a big set of balls.

Head over to the UNIT FACEBOOK, for a full gallery of banger photos from the Hillside Dirtjam! We had to hold a lot of these off until the magazines were released, but it is worth the wait. Such a good time!
Great job to Cam White, and all the riders who made the trip to Canberra for the event.
Unit's newest BMX team rider Kyle Baldock recently took a trip to the 'The Pool', a crazy Nike contest featuring the top names in BMX park/street. Check out the highlights clip above, Kyle has a swag of banger clips throughout, notably a 360 triple whip and a double flip no hander at the end!
We caught up with Ryan Guettler in Las Vegas to talk about his recovery, filming for the Colony DVD, his work at Unit and his recent deal with Dave Mirra to take over the Animal House.
Includes some chill clips of Ryan riding in Vegas, as well as a few clips while on the road while filming for the new Colony DVD that is dropping soon.
Aussie shredder Andrew Ahumada just dropped this cool bike check with Pilgrim. Features some sweet new riding clips and bangers at the end ;) Check it out...

Unit's crazy Italian FMX trials rider Emanuel Angius recently teamed up with one of Italy's best action-sports photographers, Ricky Monti for a cheeky little session of night-riding around around town. Combine Ema's rad moto skills with Ricky's technical prowess behind the lens and you're guaranteed to get some bangers. Check 'em!

In the lead up to the 2011 MX Outdoors, we would like to introduce team MotoConcepts.
In the final part of this 3 part series, we head all the way to Texas where we spend a day with Tommy Hahn. Tommy has made the decision to base himself in Texas and break the California trend, where he can be close to family and friends, while still keeping up to speed on his training.
Tommy takes us to his local tracks, welcomes us into his home, and speaks in-depth about his life, riding and family.
Unit team rider Ryan Guettler just released this great little video with Vans, talking about progression in BMX, and what has inspired him throughout the years. Features some great riding from Ryan since being back in the USA. Check it out!
Unit's fresh FMX trials rider Jack Field just visited the hot-and-sticky capital of the Northern Territory, Darwin, for a weekend of shows and more than a little bit of poach-riding. Check out the vid as Jack and his mates cut loose in the far north - some of the riding is insane!

Ford Dale is sidelined with a serious knee injury until the Super X season.
Serco Yamaha's Ford Dale has suffered a cruel blow to his 2011 Rockstar Energy MX Nationals title chase hopes after snapping his ACL and MCL ligaments at the last round of the championship at Murray Bridge, SA.
Dale wrenched his knee when he put his foot down in a sand section during qualifying, but gritted his teeth and charged through the remainder of the day's racing with two of the three ligaments gone, finishing a remarkable eighth overall.
"I guess I didn't want to pull out in case the injury wasn't as bad as I thought," he told us last night. "If it'd just been a sprain and I'd DNFed I would've lost a lot of points in the championship.
"I was pretty surprised though, because even though my knee was wrecked I still managed to finish eighth overall for the day in the Pro Lites class, and finished third in the last moto!"
The Sunny Coast lad underwent an MRI scan yesterday, which revealed the bad news. However, he says the surgeons will replace his ACL with an artificial version, and he's due to be back riding by the end of July, focusing his efforts on the upcoming Super X series.
"I'm really gutted to have this happen at this stage in the season, as the next few rounds at Toowoomba and Coonabarabran are tracks that really suit me and I was hoping to start making back some ground in the points chase," he says.
"But I'm also happy that I'll be back riding so soon. Most ACL injuries take about six months to come back from, so to have the specialists say I'll be walking within two weeks and riding within eight is really good news given the circumstances."
We wish you all the best for your recovery, Ford.
In the lead up to the 2011 MX Outdoors, we would like to introduce team MotoConcepts.
In Part 2 of this in-depth series, Kyle Chisholm opens up about his recent crash which resulted in life threatening injuries. We follow him on his journey to get back on the bike and prepare for his return to racing.
In the lead up to the 2011 AMA outdoor nationals, we introduce team MotoConcepts. Featuring Christophe Pourcel, Kyle Chisholm and Tommy Hahn.
We take an indpeth look at their team, results and the way each rider is looking for the new season. Stay tuned for Part 2 and 3, coming soon.

Ryan Guettler footjams a scary-skinny ledge at the Anthem skatepark in Vegas. All photos: Simon Makker
Unit's two-week mission travelling the length and breadth of the United States is heading towards a huge finish as we hang out and film/shoot our US-based athletes.
After the Las Vegas Supercross (and ensuing MASSIVE after-party) we took a bit of a breather for a day before getting straight back into the thick of the action with a shoot with Unit's BMX team manager and BMX heavy-hitter Ryan Guettler at the Anthem skatepark in Vegas.
Ryan, who's heading out to Italy as you read this, took little time to get used to the park and had the scooter-riders, skaters and BMXers spellbound as he found some creative new lines and pulled out some of his trademark tricks.

Cam White is all smiles now that he's back on the bike.
That afternoon we headed around to hang out with Cam White at TJ Lavin's place. Cam is back riding after a six-month knee reconstruction and is all smiles at being back behind the bars. Unfortunately the Vegas desert wind was raging too hard for us to put a session down, but it was still good to see Cam back to his old self again.
The next morning we were up dark and early to catch a red-eye to Dallas, TX to do a film shoot with MotoConcepts yamaha rider Tommy Hahn. Hahn, who lives on a peaceful 40-acre patch of dirt an hour out of Fort Worth is busy preparing for the start of the Lucas Oils AMA Motocross Championship, which fires up next weekend.

Tommy Hahn digs a new trench at a tacky Oak Hill Raceway.
Tommy is looking forward to the season and took us to his local track, Oak Hill, where he threw down some solid laps as a huge storm began to loom. After a productive session on what looked like a super-fun track we hung out at his house for a few hours, then parted ways.
This morning we were up at 3.45am and again headed to the airport, with our next stop being Seattle, WA. Once arriving in the cold, showery city we met up with BMXer Nate Berkheimer and MTB ripper Kelly McGarry, and undertook an amazing session at a spot called "The Jungle Trails" amidst moss-covered fir trees and bright green undergrowth. We'll have some awesome photos to show you soon, so stay tuned!

T-Hahn throws one at Oak Hill. The kid is pumped and ready for a successful top-five result in the AMA MX Championship.
Unit hooked up motocross fans from around the world the opportunity to win their way to the finale of the 2011 Monster Energy AMA Supercross series in Las Vegas. Luca and Alex were the lucky winners, and received flights, limo transfers and behind the scenes passes to the event!
We tagged along with the guys as they got the experience of a lifetime.
Alex even grabbed the microphone for a few minutes to ask Tommy Hahn and Eric Sorby some tough questions on life as a racer.

Welcome to Las Vegas!!
We are hanging out at the track right now, the weather is perfect, and the main event is shaping up to be insane. All the top runners are here, and the championship could get any which way.
Unit backed race team MotoConcepts is on site. Kyle Chisholm is back on the bike after a massive injury earlier in the year but not racing today, opting to work towards the outdoors series which starts in 2 weeks time. However, team mate Tommy Hahn is in good form and ready to race tonight. We had a few words with him earlier in the day to ask about the track, the championship and his expectations for the outdoors. Check it out below...
Recently we teamed up with Racer X to bring all our fans the opportunity to win their way to the finale of the SX finale, and yesterday we picked up Luca Sorgente and his son Alex from the Las Vegas airport. They were pumped to be in Vegas, where they got welcomed in the limo by Unit team riders Kyle Chisholm, Cam White and Wheelz! Stay tuned for a video of their time in Vegas, young Alex has been running around the Supercross interviewing riders and squeezing behind the scenes of the races. Wheelz also makes a few performances along the way haha.

Brody Wilson, massive Tsunami over the 110ft dirt hit at Reche Canyon. Kid, you're just showing off now... PHOTOS: SIMON MAKKER
Unit has sent two of its Aussie recruits into the US field to capture the action of all that is going down in the Land Of The Brave And Free. We arrived two days ago, and have spent that time filming and shooting with big-name FMX rider Brody Wilson at the freeriding mecca of Reche Canyon, near Riverside CA, and with MotoConcepts rider Kyle Chisholm, who's making a gritty comeback from a massive crash at the Houston SX earlier this year.
First up, we hit Reche Canyon, and we have been blown away by the skill and style of the chilled-out Brody Wilson. As well as his ridiculous extension and trick execution Brody has proved himself as one hell of a freerider and natural terrain jumper, easily crushing 140ft hips with tweaked Seatgrab Indies, and technical off-camber hits. It soon became obvious why Brody was given such a huge part in the latest installment of the On The Pipe series - this cat has style for days!

Forget big butts, Brody loves big hips. Obviously.
On day two of our trip we spent the day with the MotoConcepts team as they prepared for the upcoming motocross season. We followed Kyle Chisholm out to the Competitive Edge MX track on the edge of the highland desert on the way to Vegas and watched as he pushed hard as he comes back from a huge crash that saw him break ribs, puncture lungs and lose litres of blood trackside at Houston several months ago.

Kyle Chisholm takes in a breath of fresh desert air at Competitve Edge. Welcome back, mate, we've missed you!
But now Chiz is BACK! The likeable Floridian is pushing for 30-minute motos and come the first round of the Nationals in three weeks time, you can expect him to be lining up on the gate and charging hard. It may take him a few races to get up to speed as he continues the long recovery process, but after seeing his pace today, we have all the confidence he will be back to full strength sooner rather than later.

After several months off the bike, then returning to your lifelong passion, you'd be smiling too.

Christophe Pourcel's ride receives a spray-down after the first day of testing at Perris today.
It was a signing no-one saw coming, but French MX demon Christophe Pourcel has signed with the MotoConcepts team to race the 2011 Lucas Oils AMA Motocross Championship.
Pourcel, who missed out on the 2010 title after suffering an injury at the final round of the championship at Pala last year, has spent the past eight months recovering from injury and is hungry for another bite at the title. even though he'll be stepping up into the Pro Open class this year.
David Vuillemin, MotoConcepts' race team manager, is excited about the prospect of having such a big-named rider on the team, and after the first day of testing at Perris today, are looking forward to a successful outdoors campaign.
Pourcel will make his first appearance as a MotoConcepts rider at the final round of the Vegas Supercross this weekend, but he won't be riding - he'll be in the pits signing posters and sporting a grin a mile wide at having secured a ride for the upcoming series.
All the best for the championship, Christophe!
