Seen as we don't get the AMA Supercross Live here in Australia... (Bullshit!)... We have to rely on cruddy live lap times and twitter posts from Racer X Online... So although we didn't get to watch the race, it still sounds like some crazy shit went down!
Straight up, biggest ball breaker, Chad Reed and James Stewart collided back in the pack when Chad attempted a ballsy pass on the current points leader. Stewart was slow to his feet, but managed a 15th place, to save a couple of points for his championship. Reed however couldn't finish the race, and it now sounds like Reed has a broken hand!
So after 2 rounds of SX, Stewart has dropped the points lead to youngster Ryan Dungey, who has had a couple of astounding weeks, and Reed has basically registered no points, and is looking to be out with injury. Not an ideal position for someone has competitive and dedicated as Chad.
In Unit Team news, word from Dan Reardon's camp is that Reardon suffered a grade-two concussion and a mild strain to his right medial knee ligament in his spectacular heat-race crash at Anaheim I. He was out for Phoenix, but hopes to be back in time for a second shot at Anaheim, at Anaheim II.
Best of luck Dan, and we hope you heal up well. Next weeks racing is sure to spectacular, with Stewart on a mission to recapture the series lead!
