It is awesome in this day and age, that so much exciting content is available on the internet. It has really helped boost alot of sports, and made them more accessible to fans.
Above, Kawasaki Racing Team wraps up their strong performance at Round 2 of the Australian MX Nationals. And below, you can check out Kain Saul's 3rd succesful flip on a Harley Davidson, which he is doing at every stop of the Crusty regional tour!

Hi everyone, how are you doing?
Life is very busy at the Schubring household lately with riding, getting my toy line's prototypes underway and working on the riding park's draft. Crusty shows are going great, we've done the Gosford and Darwin stops and the shows are pretty full on. I do a lot of riding in the show leading different segments and plenty of crowd interaction. We have the next 2 weekends off so i have organised a lot of riding and filming with a helicopter to be done at my properties over the break. I then move onto Bundaberg and Cairns crusty stops were we finish up.
June 3rd-6th i will be at the Brisbane Motorshow performing demo's throughout the day
I featured in a Darwin newspaper with a nice shot from the show, and the latest issue of Crusty magazine features a 4 page story talking about how i juggle a riding career, support my wifes shop "Banditts", create a toy line for kids and keep slugging away to create Australia's safest and best public riding facility. There are plenty of pics with the article as well.
This weekend i will be performing on track at the V8 supercars Queensland Raceway and signing posters for SP Tools. Sp Tools and i are also trying to fit in a media session with my SP Tools KTM bikes and Shane van Gisbergen's SP Tools V8 supercar. I'm looking forward to it
Thanks for everyone's support

Unit athlete Matt Rebeaud has had a tough 8-months, which started with what looked like a horrific accident at the final London X-Fighters round last year. Riding towards the ramp in his run with a flat tyre Mat didn't gained enough speed to make the landing and slammed into the back side of the dirt down ramp. Mat was lucky to walk away with only a big hole under his lip and a big headache. Looking at the footage of his crash it could have been a lot worse! Then preparing for the 2010 season at he Red Bull compound in California Mat crashed again while trying an Underflip One Handed and was rushed to hospital with a compressed lung and fractured right arm, not the start the former X-Fighters champion would have hoped for. Now Mat is gearing up for round two of Red Bull X-Fighters in Eygpt, and he is still in with a fighting chance to win the series as each rider gets to drop their worst round.
Red Bull recently put together this clip of Mat talking about his accidents and return to the X-Fighters series. Check it out 'here'

It's been a pretty quiet event wise since I got back from the farm jam, but between work and family I've been staying pretty busy. I got a chance to do a few 75ft flips into Schuies foam pit, and first chance I get I want to knuckle down and get them going to dirt.
I had three nights of demos with Ryan Apps at Toowoomba show a couple of weeks ago, which was fun apart the wind... which sucked. My Fiance Casey and daughter Scarlett got to come out and watch though which was cool, as they can't usually come because it's hard to travel far with Scarlett. She had a good time watching daddy ride and checking out all the animals! She's definately getting a peewee for Christmas...
Next up for me is a trip to China next week for a demo at a round of their mx championship. It's always a pretty crazy experience over there, plus I'm going with Jim Bartle and Jesse Fairfull who have never been before so we should come home with some cool story's! I'll make sure I have heaps of pics for my next update.
Cheers
Joe

While on the news of Cam White's ACL injury, here is his latest blog. Always looking on the bright side...
Back in Vegas after a long long long flight. Had a sweet as snooze last night and am feeling great today. The new lines in the yard are amazing. I wish that I wasn't sittin' here, watching Lavs cut laps... All I wanna do is drop in and get scared s**tless hitting the new transfers and lines that the boys built over the winter. My knee is feeling pretty good. Got good movement in it now and it's feeling strong.
Now all I need is my kneebrace and BMX is back. Haha. Shouldn't be too long till I'm back riding. Let's hope the kneebrace doesn't restrict me too much.
Well, Chipotle here I come!... I've missed you for the past 6 months hahaha.
Cheers! The pic above is Lavs on the last straight shredding in the perfect Vegas weather... So jealous.
Cam White was heading into the 2010 season at full strength, with a heap of enthusiasm and new tricks. However a big get off on his massive trick jump has cast a big shadow over his season and possibly career.
Stay up to date with Cam on his website www.cambmx.com or by following the Unit blog at www.unitriders.com
There may be a hell of a lot of criticism over this years Crusty Tour, but at least they brought us this!
Check out the video above, where at the first stop Kain Saul nails the insane Harley Davidson backlip, and Jacko Strong attempts the front flip! Words can't describe how crazy this is, and all in just 1 show.
Secondly, to top it off, this past weekend in Darwin, Cam Sinclair got the monkey off his back by nailing his first double flip since his near death crash at X-Fighters! So stoked for Cam. Jacko attempts another frontflip and takes a HUGE HIT, and some how gets back up. And Kain Saul lands yet another Harley Davidson backflip, his 3rd to date.

Over this past week we have been on a whirlwind tour of the East Coast filming with the whole Unit BMX Team before guys headed overseas. Cam Pianta was the last guy to get in front of the lens, and leading up to the weekend, we had perfect weather everywhere! Cam had 4 sets of trails locked in all around Victoria, and we had an awesome 2 day roadtrip planned. Come Saturday morning however, we were driving north to meet up with Cam in his home town of Benalla, and things started to turn bad. Rain was pouring, and pretty much the entire state of Victoria was covered in it! Cam was gutted, and everything went on hold, we tried to wait it out and hope for a late afternoon session, but as the day went on we slowly gave up.
Sunday was our last chance, and thankfully we woke to a perfect day, despite the bad forecast on the news. We quickly snapped into action and by 9am we were on the way to Hendo's trails in El Dorado. Cam and Hendo sessioned the yard for a good hour, and both guys were in fine form. Everything from stretched superman seat grabs, to 360 look backs got thrown down, and before anyone even got a chance to warm down, we were all back in the car and driving to the next spot. Shepparton was in our sights, and Cam quickly demolished a run of sweet clips at the local park, despite the 1000 scooter kids popping up in front of Cam in every run. After some KFC and Cold Rock... (does it seem strange that KFC had no burger buns?)... we were on our way to the next set of trails. But before we could celebrate, Cam got the bad news that the trails wouldn't be ready, that they were still too wet from the previous days rain. Cam hit the phone book and was calling friends from all over the state trying to find a dry set of trails. Everywhere was to wet, and our awesome day started to look worse for wear. Our last hope was to take the 2 hour drive to Bendigo, where Cam's friend Borris gave us the green light to ride his private trails! They were still meant to be a bit wet from the night before, but we were willing to take the risk.
We rocked up to Bendigo as the sun was setting, and had to make quick work of the shoot. Cam and Hendo quickly grabbed the shovels and had the set running in no time. The jumps were a good variation from Hendo's yard, and we got to see some awesome flowy runs from Pianta, something most of you may not be used to. As the light dwindled, Cam threw down run after run to try and get enough clips out of the session to help boost the final video. All in all a super busy, but fun day, and we can confidently say that Cam Pianta's video is going to be killer, despite all of the obstacles stacked in front of us.
Good work Cam, you are a machine!

Levi here... Well, not sure where to start with this one, I guess I'll just get straight to the point and tell you how disappointed I was with the rain in Mexico haha.
It was all going pretty well before the rain. I was feeling good all through practice, my KTM 250sx was running really good and the course was pretty simple.
Qualifying didn't go as well, I didn't realize that they were judging show in qualifying. Since it is judged off crowed reaction and there wasn't any one out there apart form the judges I didn't really do anything apart from focus on the run I had to do. I ended up loosing some points from that and qualified 7th. Oh well i guess next time ill pay more attention haha
Then on the night it started raining lightly as the show started but it wasn't enough to bother us at first. The bottom six riders had to go out for one run to see who the final two would make it into the competition. After the head to head rounds started the rain settled in and I was sitting in the tunnel with Nate for about 15 minutes waiting to go out. I'm not really one to go ride in the rain but i was ready to at least try. So it was a long 15 minutes waiting until they called it off because of the rain.
It was still a really fun event and I cant wait to go back next year, just hope it doesn't rain again. Also congrats to Andre on his first win!
So now its back to practicing and getting ready for Egypt, cant wait to see what its like there, If you want to follow what I'm up to until then check out www.levisherwood.com

The Unit team hasn't been having the best luck as of late, first Nick Cooper busted up his knee cap and is going to need at least 6 weeks off the bike with possible surgery, than Cam White bailed from height and has cast shadows over his whole season, and now Rhys WIllemse slid out on a corner while training and got cleaned up by his team mate! Resulting in 2 broken bones in his wrist.
Rhys is shattered, as he will miss the first world cup race in Maribor, where he finished 13th last year.
On a good note though, after surgery, it seems that he may only be off the bike for 4 weeks. This is a huge relief and will mean Rhys can have a chance to ride some of the World Cups.
Get better soon mate, and good luck!

We would just like to wish Sincs the very best of luck this weekend!
Cam will attempt a double backflip tomorrow for the first time since he was critically injured last July.
Sinclair will attempt the feat as part of the Crusty Demons ‘Beyond the Apocolypes’ Tour stop in Darwin. The jump will mark Sinclair’s first official attempt since a sickening crash while competing in the Red Bull X Fighters in Madrid, Spain last July. Sinclair approached the take off too slowly, under rotating and suffering sever head and internal injuries.
The Victorian’s comeback to riding has been quite remarkable, with doctors amazed at his progress throughout. For Sinclair to be even considering a double flip again is a decision he has not taken lightly.
“For me I need to double flip again to prove to myself that I can do it and to achieve the goal I have set myself throughout my entire recovery. It has been a long road to get back to this point and I know I can land my 27th double flip.” Cam Sinclair said.
Preparation for this weekend’s jump has been an arduous task for Sinclair, battling poor weather conditions in his home town of Pearcedale.
“It’s been pouring rain at home on and off for the entire week. Last night we had a huge task to get everything set up at my foam pit to practise; by the time I was ready to ride it was pitch black. I did my first two practise jumps with only the lighting from a few cars to see where I was going. It was pretty scary, but thanks to all my ‘Southside’ friends who pitched in, we got a couple of jumps in and I’m ready to get the job done in Darwin.” Sinclair said.
Footage of Cam’s last practise jumps before heading to Darwin can be seen HERE

Richo is the newest member of the Unit BMX team, and although he may not be winning Dew Tours, he is an amazing trails and street rider, and one of the nicest guys around.
He used to have a wild set of trails on the Gold Coast that him and the locals worked hard on, and had looking sweet, but due to the recent freak weather on the Coast the trails have been levelled! Everyone is gutted, and until a new set of trails gets going, it is a long 4 hour drive to Maryborough for a good set to ride.
Richo and Cooper headed north last week for a cool session, and this short video is the product. Unfortunately Cooper had a fall while gapping some of the ghetto ramps which resulted in a broken knee cap, so the footage is limited. Cooper told us today he will be catching up with a surgeon this week which should finalise whether he needs surgery or not. We will keep you all posted on that, but in the meantime enjoy the clip!

Our friend Steve from Freerider Magazine gives us his review on the re-opened Black Duck Valley Moto tracks...
I’m heading to Black Duck Valley Moto X track and trails for the first time since it closed last year. Its dark and I pack my YZ450, riding gear into the van (along with packed lunch and Red Bull). As I merge onto the M1 it’s just starting to become light as I join the fleet of tradies and machine operators heading to work on a Saturday. It seems fitting that I have Pink Floyd’s ‘MONEY’ playing on my CD player. All these guys are heading to work to make their money, while I’m heading to BDV to spend mine!
I turn off the M1 heading west towards The Warrego Highway, a 744 km fully sealed stretch of highway (leads you from the Queensland’s capital, Brisbane), through the fertile Lockyer Valley and out to BDV. I feel the temperature drop a few degrees see fog and mist hover over the plain lands.
I arrive at the front gate to Black Duck Valley to see the BDV sign nailed to a tree across from the main entrance. I follow the signs directing me to the house office to see only one ute with two bikes perched in the back. It’s not your normal BDV morning sign on frenzy of crew trying to fill out forms and buy ice and drinks. It was eerily quiet and a bit surreal.
I begin to fill out pages of documentation which will be the nucleus for the induction I’m about to sit. Not to go into too much detail on the induction – Pete covers off everything from park rules, park responsibilities, riders duty of care and personal responsibilities. Pete delivers the induction with passion and no nonsense in his demeanour. The one thing that is strikingly clear is that if you don’t follow the park rules and fuck up once – you WILL never ride the park and its facilities again ever. It’s a stance I support Peter 100% with.
After the induction and park protocol is understood and you’ve signed a waiver that you are riding – At your own risk. I drove my van along the unsealed road to the start of the camp ground. The guy directs me to the main Moto tracks (Tracks 1 to 4) and notions me to stay off Pete’s newly sown grass that is now the 5 hectare camping ground. As I slowly drive up to Track 2 (Novice to Advanced) I notice the tracks are in perfect condition. It’s just gone 9.30am and there is only the sound of one motocross bike far in the distance – most likely track 4. Usually by this time on a Saturday morning every track would have 20 plus bikes ripping around the freshly groomed runs.
I kick my bike into action and the anticipation is now in full flight. I descend onto track 2 and begin my laps with no one else in sight. This is fucken unreal I scream to myself inside my helmet, as I round the corner to see the freshly groomed 55ft step up and fly up and over into the next rounding berm, and fly down the drop off into a another corner...
After five laps I run over a metre long carpet python, which I have disturbed from its slumber in the knee high grass alongside the track. I’ve been blasting around track 2 for a good half an hour and I start to see a few more cars starting to roll in. As the sun rises higher into the mid morning sky the track is tacky fast and too myself. No fucken way – this place rocks! BDV is in its full glory.
When you meet Pete, ask him why he wanted Black Duck to reopen. It’s a heartfelt reason and worth hearing.

Well Ive been over here in Europe for 2 and a half weeks , Its been pretty cool so far ,we turned up in Switzerland and brought a weapon of a van for 300 swiss franks i, it had been in a crash and the back door wouldnt close so i did some Kiwi panel beating ( jumping on it a few times) and put a peice of ply where the window was and now its sweeet! haha. The van AKA 'the Bumble bee" aint pretty but it gets us where we need to go so thats cool.
The 1st mission was to Vienna Air King Via Czech republic , We loaded up the Bumble bee with my bike and gear and headed out of switzerland toward Czech , One of the LOWlights of the trip was me and my "rules dont apply to Kelly Mcgarry " attitude getting us a 120 euro fine for driving in Austria with no High way vinnette sticker (which costs 9 Euro) DOW! We were just nipping over the tip of Austria for 20mins, but the officer diddnt seem to care at all. 120 euro ON THE SPOT OWCH!
We made it thru to Czech and had a look around prauge which was cool, the city could definitly tell a few stories!
We stayed just out of Prauge for the night then high tailed to Vienna to stay with my mate Niki Lietner and ride his personal trails www.dirtgarden.at . Nikis dirtpark was sick and had lines going both ways ,a satalite dish and the mother of all roll ins for the big line! We had a shred there for a day with ZEE GERMANS and it was Hella fun.
Next up was Vienna air king , The course was cool right in the middle of Vienna with a sweet first drop and 3 comp style dirt jumps finishing with a quarter. We dodged showers a wind gust and got some practice in on the friday before . I was lucky enough to be on the set riders list so I didn't need to qualify . On the day of the comp the weather was a bit shady but we got on with the comp anyway. . I got a safety run in the bag but I had to step it up on my last run to make the final. I had 360'd the first drop in practise a couple of times so I decided to go for it in my final run, I landed the drop smooth but just tagged my back wheel when I flipped the first jump and didn't have enough speed to get through the set. I was Hella bummed but thats just the way it goes.
We Drove straight back to Switzerland after the comp and helped my Mate Ramon build the "rocket air " slopestyle course in the town of Thun. The course was set up in an ice hockey stadium which actully worked out to be pretty cool as the whole crowd could see every part of the course and could sit down drink beer and watch the action go DOWN.
I was pretty stoked on the course , it had a pretty decent roll in drop into a big dirt jump then a step up step down into a box jump then final dirt jump then a quarter
The comp kicked off on Sat afternoon , All the Euro shredders and some USA riders showed up so it was pretty gnarly , i had a couple of not bad qual runs and made it thru to the finals . stoked.
The finals were loaded with shredders, I had to MAN up and flip down the first drop which had a tiny little kicker and was hella scary, but got it done in practice just before my finals run. I had a couple of good runs , I got pretty loose an a barrelroll and only just managed to footjam the quarter... but other wise I was pretty stoked. I ended up 12th .
Every one over here is shredding this year! I am looking forward to the rest of the trip. We are off to Croatia tomorrow morning and then thru to Italy for a Dirt jump comp so that should keep us busy for a couple of weeks.
Cheers

Rider: Jaie Toohey throw a massive superman over the last set at Cam's. Photo: Allan Hardy
After a very dissapointing start the week, with the bad news of Cam White's busted knee and then being rained out while filming with Jaie Toohey and Dane Searls, we finally got some good stuff done!
Dane Searls was absolutely on fire, and in his words... "Today was a crazy day, I don't think I have ever ridden and thrown down that much stuff!"... and he surely did! Banger after banger, we can confidently say people will be blown away by Dane's video section that will be dropping soon online.
Jaie Toohey is freash back from a full knee reconstruction, but you would barely know it. Huge superman seatgrabs, dipped 360's and superwhips were just some of things he showed off, and when you consider it was all over some of the biggest jumps in the world, it is crazy!
On another not so good note, Cam White has just hopped in the car and is heading into get an MRI on his injured knee. He then has a final doctors appointment tomorrow that should confirm the final problem, and how much time off Cam may need off to get back to strength. We will keep you up to date with the news as we get it...

There is nothing better than a fresh new paint job... If I look good I feel good and im definitely feeling ready to show up in Denmark for the World Cup to represent Australia on a freshly painted bike.
Todd from Kickass Kustoms in Canberra has done an awesome job on the frame it stands out and is soo neat.
Keep you posted on the next few weeks of World travel and racing :)

Racing resumed this week for the Australian MX Nationals, and it was nothing short of epic. A new race format was adopted, that saw each class run 4 consecutive motos! Short and fast, riders were pushed to their limits and it showed as the motos went on and guys were getting sketchier.
Todd Waters took home a very well deserved overall win in the Pro Opens, after consistently running at the front of the poack every race.
Unit MX athletes had a good day overall as well, all of the guys stepping up and bettering results from the first round.
First of all in the U19's, Luke Arbon has been looking for the podium for a long long time, and with so many wins while racing juniors, it was only a matter of time before he got one in the 19's. He ended the day with a very strong 2nd overall.
In the Lites, Ford Dale was another athlete who always seemed to be falling just short of those valuable podium finishes. He started the day slowly in Moto 1, but picked up his act with 3 consequtive 2nd place finishes. This effort would of almost been enough to win any other round, but thanks to the consistent efforts of Larsen, Bopping and Gibbs, Dale was once again relished off the podium to 4th. Still a great result for the youngster, and a promising boost of confidence going into the next round.
The Pro Opens saw all the fireworks, and with so many contenders having the skill to win, it will be an intense year of racing all round. Tye Simmonds started with a some what dissappointing result in Round 1 of 2010, but considering he was fresh back from injury and riding a brand new bike (KTM350F) it was always going to be hard for him to come out swinging. This week he really stepped up, and spent alot of the day fighting for first place. Unfortunately he didn't seem to have the speed to hold of guys like Todd Waters, and in the end he was religated to 3rd overall. Still an amazing result, and one to be proud of, Tye will still look to better himself and his results at the next round.
To the AMA Supercross, this week in St. Louis, the Unit Motoconcept team of riders looked strong with Ryan Sipes specifically standing head and shoulders above the field. He qualified 2nd in the Lites, and dominated throughout his heat, but come time for the main, and a crash in the whoops section dashed and hopes he had for the podium. Kyle Chisholm held up well in the Opens and managed an 8th overall, but still a farcry from where the team was hoping to be overall.
Racing continues next weekend for the AMA SX, and in 2 weeks time for the Aus MX Nationals. Stay tuned!

Schuie has kicked off his 2010 season, with the opening night of the new and improved Crusty Live Tour. Schuie has been up to alot in his off season, including creating his own team SP Tools KTM.
Schuie only just finished putting his new bike together the other day, and we think the beast looks awesome!
With alot of things on the drawing board for Schuie at the moment, he is going to be someone to watch in 2010, and not just on the bike!
While on the topic of new rides, Caroline Buchanan just shot through this pic of her flash new Commencal 4X bike. Caroline is heading back to Europe in a week for a month of racing including a BMX and Mountain Bike World Cup.
Being a professional BMX and MTB rider at the same time definitely takes it toll on an athlete, but there is definitely some good perks to the job as well, including travelling to twice as many amazing places... This trip Caroline will be checking out Italy, Denmark, Slovenia and Germany.
Good luck!

Recently, we saw some of the wildest weather in South East Queensland for many many years, the resulting rain and floods basically destroyed the one good set of trails on the Coast. Everyone was gutted, as the trails were running so plush and everyone was killing it. Since then, people have been working on some new spots, but in the meantime, we headed 4 hours north with team riders Richo and Cooper to session and film at the famous Maryborough trails. So many amazing lines and even some cool ghetto ramps grace the bushland in the secret Maryborough spot, and everyone we headed up with had big expectations. Unfortunately on arrival, it became apparent the rain and weather had damaged some of the main Maryborough lines as well, but after a bit of digging and preperations, the guys could at least session the small line, which was super fun and a cool spot to film.
The day was going good, until the focus moved onto the ghetto ramps. Cooper was eyeing off a cool gap out of one of the quarters, over the back rail, and landing on a small dirt bank. It was a pretty crazy gap, and on his first attempt, Cooper seemed to have it sweet. However, he came in a little sketchy and landed with his knee smashing the stem. At first we all thought he got it out of it sweet, but Cooper realised fast that something was wrong.
After a short wait for the ambo, Cooper got straight into the green stick and had a great afternoon from then on... hahaha
X-Rays showed that his knee cap was fractured, and may require surgery. Cooper now has an anxious 10 day wait, before heading back to the hospital for a final decision on treatment. Best of luck mate, we hope you heal up quick.
Even though the day was cut short, we still got some cool clips done, and will probably drop a chill edit from the day online soon, so stay tuned for that!
The countdown is on for the opening round of the Red Bull X-Fighters series in Mexico this weekend. Without a doubt, the most hotly contested serires in FMX history, the 6 stop series is shaping up to be epic, and when us Aussies have so many home grown superstars lining it up, we are finding it hard to wait any longer!
Levi Sherwood (NZ), Maddo, Bilko and Sincs (AUS) are all scheduled to compete, and seen as all of the guys except Maddo are coming off injury stricken 2009 seasons, it is going to be interesting to see who comes out swinging. We have been spending some time with Unit athlete Levi Sherwood since being back on the bike, and not for a moment would you think he ever had a moment off it.
We are all lucky enough that Red Bull will be offering a live webcast of the event, as well as airing all of the action live on Fuel TV, which is a huge step up from previous years. Check out the links below, for where to watch the event, along with some cool features and interviews that have been hitting the net in the lead up to the season opener!

LEVI SHERWOOD 2010 VIDEO PROFILE

The past few weeks have been pretty hetic. I have been up on the Gold Coast over the Easter break catching up with family and chillin'. Was good to soak up some sweet as warm weather and go fishing for a few days. After the long car drive home I have been working in the yard getting the jumps all dialled in and ready to go. The weather has been a bit average so I haven't been on my bike as much as I would of liked. I only have 2 weeks left here in Australia before I jet set back off to the states for a pretty busy year. Looking forward to the stomping ground contest and the dew tour to kick off again.
Yesterday was my Dads birthday so we had a sweet as day, went to Nandos for lunch which was awesome then pulled off a big chunk of coin from Keno and had a sweet as dinner at a Chinese place. Happy b'day Hess.
For the last 2 weeks left here in Australia I'm filming for my Firsthand for Fuel TV. I'm at Sydney airport now waiting to pick up steve Olpin from Utah and then bounce home and get into it. I've always wanted to do a Firsthand so I'm stoked as I finally get to do one. It should be a busy 2 weeks of filming here then another week or so filming in Vegas when I get back over there.
On the 23rd of this month my Hillside Dirt Jam TV Feature will be on Fuel here in Australia thanks to Unit. It will be on at 5pm. I watched it the other day and am bloody stoked on it so make sure you all check it out. Allan kicked ass on it so if you wanna watch some sweet riding make sure u check it out.
That's pretty much it from me this week.
Cheers, Cam W
We are proud to present to you... the Unit video feature 'Levi Sherwood 2010 Profile!'
Featuring some amazing unseen footage of Levi shredding the hills of NZ, as well as an interview with the 18 year old prodigy himself, talking about injury, bikes, winning X-Fighters and how he is going to claim his place on top of the FMX world this year! You don't want to miss this...

I'm healing up, i had a MRI a week after my crash and some REAL doctors found my scaphoid was broken also so i had an opp a week after that, 3 1/2 weeks ago now to screw it together. I'm hoping to ride soon despite the normal 3 to 4 month break you should take after this injury. The other 4 bones are good, i've been swimming and cycling to keep busy and get it all moving again. V8s this weekend in Hamilton and super 14 game so I'll do my best!

As promised, here is the video of Davids recent riding holiday in Brisbane!

Pic: Davo hits the VB after his win in Sydney. Now that he is 18, he is putting some good effort into his drinking skills.
We just got word that young Gertrude won a Dirt Jump contest on Saturday in Sydney. The event that was held for charity, had a basic 3 jump setup along with 3 prize categories. (Best Trick, Best Style + Best Overall)
Davo won best overall rider after 360ing the first jump, and landing a bunch of 3 tables, 720s and 3 double whips! This should help give Davo some confidence and momentum as he prepares to head overseas for his first go at the Dew Tour.
Best Style went to Luke Bowerman, and Best Trick to Glewy, for a flip superman and barspin to whip.

After what seems like an eternity (well, maybe it was just Easter), racing is back this weekend! The AMA Supercross series will heat up this Sunday, but you will still have to wait til the 18th of April for the Aussie MX Nationals.
Unfortunately neither event provides good coverage here in Australia, so unless you want to scour your TV guide for weeks old content, then your only option is to keep track via live web updates and timing. You might ask is it really worth the effort to watch, but we will immediately reply with 'DAM RIGHT IT IS!' Australia's MX talent has been going crazy as of late, and as an Aussie, you have a homegrown obligation to support!
Here is all the best ways for you to get your fix each Sunday...

I only got the call from the Showtime boys a week before the Sydney Royal Easter Show asking me if i could do the first 10 days of it, as Mini's broken ankle wasnt strong enough to ride yet. It is my first time here and i am loving every minute of it. 20 thousand plus people watching every day and every night which makes an awsome crowd and they are really into it. In the words of the one and only Gary Ried.... THE MORE NOISE YOU MAKE THE BIGGER THESE GUYS ARE GOING TO GO.... haha with that many people watching and screaming for you it really does pump you up and make you ride alot better.
To top it off we get free meals for brekky, lunch and dinner, which are so good and even better that we dont have to pay for them so we save so much money.
Its my last day on Sunday as i need to get down to Jacko Strongs place to practice for a couple of days flipping this heavy big dog Harley into the pit, so i am ready and feeling comfortable for the first round of the Crusty Tour on the 17th of this month at Gosford.
Other than all that cool stuff thats been happening I've been working on some new tricks, that i can hopefully show you all when i get them down spot on.
Cheers, Kain...

There is no doubt that Robbie Maddison is the true modern day Evel Knievel. While other long distance jumpers struggle to push their limits, Robbie is turning heads and breaking records all around the world, from one of the worlds best freestyle riders, to the worlds best long distance jumper, Robbie is truly a jack of all trades when it comes to Motocross.
Unit and Robbie have a great history together, you may even remember seeing Robbie Maddison winning King Of The Coast many years ago, while wearing the very first Unit MX Jersey! Robbie may no longer be on the Unit Team, but we wish him the best of luck in all of his projects!
Robbie's latest crazy stunt came this week, as he jumped the Corinth Canal in Greece. Words can't describe how insane this looks! Check out some of the pics and Press Release below....
Australian stunt Motocrosser Robbie Maddison not only jumped over the 85-metre wide Corinth Canal at height of nearly 100 metres in Greece on Thursday, but he also had a bigger hurdle to overcome: fear.
CORINTH (Greece). Motocross Freestyle, with breathtaking tricks such as flips performed at heights of up to three storeys high, is one the worlds most dangerous sports. Robbie Maddison is one of the worlds best in FMX.
But that is not enough for the 28-year-old Australian. Maddison is always looking for even greater thrills and has completed a number of spectacular jumps that would have made pioneering stuntman Evel Knievel proud. In 2007 and 2008 Maddison set three world records for distance all the way to 107 metres (350 feet). In 2009 he celebrated New Years Eve in Las Vegas by jumping up 30 metres onto the Arc de Triomph in front of Paris Las Vegas and then descended off the monument to ground level. Last year pictures of him jumping the Tower Bridge over the Thames River with a backflip while the drawbridge was open went around the world.
Many Motocrossers have wanted to jump across the Corinth Canal, which was built in 1893. But the Australian was the first to succeed. He sped his Honda 500 up through a turn-filled approach past a pool, across a soccer pitch and past a chicken coop to a speed of 125 km/h. On Thurday morning he accelerated up a ramp over the canal some 80 metres below and landed safely on a mound set up on the other side of the canal. At his apogee Maddison was 95 metres above the canals surface.
Maddison said getting the approach right despite the constantly changing surfaces from grass to concrete to wood to asphalt again and then carpet was difficult enough but there was greater hurdle to the jump: Overcoming fear, thats always the hardest part, Maddison said. Maddo will travel straight from Greece to Mexico City for the season opener of the Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour. Maddison was second overall last year and aims to win the title this year.

Hey guys, David here...
The last couple of weeks have been pretty crazy for me, for one i recently turned 18, pumped! Last week I flew down to the Gold Coast to film a new web video for Unit and we got some really good clips, I can't wait to see the final product.
I flew into Sydney Saturday morning and went straight to the Five Dock jam which was pretty chilled. After that I managed to get my first expeirence of 'Kings Cross" which is pretty crazy.
A couple of days ago I went to Sydney Olympic Park and did a couple of demos for the Sydney Royal Easter show which was cool. At the moment I'm just cruzing around to a couple of different skateparks and street spots. This saturday there's a dirt comp so hopefully that goes well!
This sunday i'll be flying back to Cairns which im not to stoked on, because i've heard it hasn't stoped raining there, but it will be a good chance to catch up with mates before going to America in June sometime.
Peace,
David Girsch

Mary Perkins, now Mary Wanhill, after she recently married her man Joel sent us in some photos of her FMX inspired wedding. Mary, a passionate freestyler couldn't help but to include a touch of FMX madness in her wedding day bliss by getting her good mate and Kiwi FMX legend Levi Sherwood to jump on her special day, saying, "We had our own private demo on the morning of our wedding!.....
Read the rest of the crazy story, and check out the rest of the pics now over at the Freerider MX Website.

Hey guys,
March is over, this year is flying! Bit of a slow start to the year, heaps of rain and a few races been getting cancelled. Just had the first round of the national motocross titles and didn't go so good. It was a bit of a wet race as well but still managed to get the racing in. Finished 18th overall with my best result on the day being a 12th. The next round of nationals will be in canberra in 2 weeks time, so definitely looking for a better result there!
My website is back up and running www.robbiemarshall.com Trying to keep things updated on there as much as I can with photos and news.
I will be doing a freestyle show in Gympie on the 14th of May for Showtime FMX. Should be good fun to get back out there with the showtime boys and have some fun at the Gympie royal show. We have 2 puppies added to our family now (Molly and Rex) and that's about all the news I have for now!
Thanks, Robbie.

We had an awesome day today, catching up with Unit athletes Chris Kovarik and Claire Buchar. The husband and wife duo are heading over to California on Thursday, to finalise their new bikes and equipment from team Chain Reaction Cycles, before putting in some serious training for the World Cup that begins in just a matter of weeks. Chris and Claire are coming off a very strong season in Australia, both finishing up Australian Champions in their respective classes! Which is an amazing achievement for a husband and wife. (Although Claire can't claim the title, as she isn't officially an Australian citizen...)
The weather held out for us today, and we managed a sweet film shoot with the couple at Gold Coast track Mt.Tamborine. We haven't got to see much of Chris in action, and we were blown away by his speed and skill on the bike, showing us why after 10 years, he is still a good bet for the podium at this years World Cup. Claire definitely wasn't to be out done, and we can safely say we have never seen a girl go so fast on a downhill bike! And if it wasn't for her long blonde hair flowing out of her helmet, she could easily be mistaken for Chris!
It was cool talking with the pair, and thanks to their determination and very hard work, they now have the amazing opportunity to travel the world together, working the dream job and on the same team! It is hard enough for any female downhill rider to get on a team at all, let alone with their hubby!
We wish Chris and Claire the very best of luck for this year's world cup! Make sure you all stay tuned to the Unit website, for some videos and other features of the couple, as well as updates on their World Cup results and news.

Coming off a big podium finish in Madrid at the World Cup I was pretty exhausted and had a few days to relax. We stopped over night in Italy, at the Cycling Australia base before we continued onto the UCI World Cycling Centre in Aigle, Switzerland. The Australian EDS Squad and I had 2 awesome days of training at the centre on the Supercross track. It was very cold!! It snowed the last day we were there but we all gained a lot and was well worth the time there. We then drove a few hours to Besancon, France for 2 European UCI rounds. The riding over here is completely different to in Australia. All the girls are racing for sheep stations every race and are not afraid to give you a shove. The track was really long and quite technical. All I can say about day 1 racing in France... Is that I have totally wrote it off and put it down to experience. I learnt my lesson to be on top of knowing exactly how many points I am on during the heats, so that I can conserve energy for when it counts, but also qualify at the same time.
Day 2 I had analysed my mistakes made on day 1 and had a plan. I stuck to my technical, tactical, physical and mental plan and it payed off getting me to the final which was a success in its own. I got a bit squeezed down the 1st straight and was sitting in 6th till the last corner where I passed my team mate Rachel and crossed the line for 5th place. Racing at these European rounds is the best race training possible. The level of competition was equivalent to a World Cup. The Australian Team will now have a long 30 hour travel home and return to Europe in 4 weeks for another 2 x UCI rounds and a World Cup in Denmark.

Cam White is on the Gold Coast right now, enjoying some well earned time off after his massive project and huge success, the 2010 Hillside Dirtjam. We caught up with Cam and his family today in their high rise resort, and got talking on Cam's plans for 2010... Everyone knows Cam is an amazing dirt jumper, with loads of bangers and consistency to boot, but even we were taken back by what Cam has planned for 2010.
After being on top of the BMX Dirt Jump world in 2008, Cam had a tough year following on from his success, with multiple injuries that took nearly all of 2009 to shake. Even though he managed to finish in the top 8 for the season, Cam had so much more to unleash, and 2010 looks like his time!
Now we don't want to let to much out of the bag, but we will say that Cam has a couple of insane tricks on his mind, one in particular that has never been seen before. We know it is easy for a rider to call things, and never bring them to life, but if you know Cam personally, then you know that he doesn't mess around, and odds are we will see these tricks in the near future!
Cam heads overseas on April 25, and in the meantime will be flat out filming his own episode of 'Firsthand' with Fuel TV USA, as well as holding a film session in his backyard with Dane Searls and Jaie Toohey, for some new Unit videos and TV content. If you are all lucky, you may catch a glimpse of some of Cam's new bangers on the internet before the Dew Tour kicks off! Fingers crossed.....

Hi Guys, just a few bits and peices from my last 3 and a half months in my home country of New Zealand.
I got here at the start of December and the first thing on the list was to help my Dad build his house So i gave him a few weeks of my time and made a dent in the construction, after we got the roof on it was all bikes! I kicked it off with building a jump park close to my home town of Nelson which took way more time than I thought! After the park was done my friend Ramon from Switzerland showed up on my doorstep with a beat up old van, a few bikes and a bike rack, so i loaded all my bikes and gear up and we hit the road and headed to the North Island of to ride in a couple of jams and hit a few cool spots! One of the highlights of the north island section of my road trip was riding at Chris B's jump jam in Huntly. The jumps were sweet and he set up big ass lights so we could keep shreddin into the night! awesome!
We spent just under two weeks cruising around the north island and I also picked up my new Corsair bikes from the NZ distributor Wide Open LTD, which I was very stoked about!
With the North Island smashed and the sick deep south dirt jumps/Mtb Scene calling we got on the ferry and headed back to the mainland and headed for Christchurch for the first of four jams in consecutive weekends.
1st jam was Bowenvale in Christchurch, we had a trick battle/showdown which I won Yaaahoooo! Next weekend was the Stoney Hills Jam in Dunedin at some of the raddest trails in new Zealand and I also won that comp yahooo x2! 3rd jam was the Frew Farm Jam in Southland which was a fully sick event with mtb/bmx/fmx and riders from all over NZ and a few from aussie showed up. I placed 3rd there and had a hell of a good time. Final jam for the deep south was the Gorge Road Jam and it was a dooozey, all of the Queenstown crew showed up for a day of dirt jumping, it was pretty chill and everyone had a smile on the dial.
The New Zealand scene is really taking off. It is a hell of a good place to go when it is cold in the northern hemisphere and people are catching on and we are seeing more and more international riders showing up each summer. So if you are sick of the winter next year, come on down to visit us KIWIS and get some ridin' DONE!!
Next up for me is a 3 month tour of Europe and then onto USA/Canada for 4months. See ya out there!
Cheers
Kelly

Most things are on hold around the world right now, so we don't have much to report on. On a good note though, if you are in Australia, you have a killer 4 day weekend to enjoy! So make sure you get out, have a ride, party, ride, and basically do whatever makes you happy!
David Girsch will be flying onto Sydney tomorrow, and throughout the week we have captured some killer clips of him shredding BMX all around Brisbane and the Gold Coast, so keep an eye out for his new edit.
In the meantime, and if your unlucky enough to be sitting at home right now with nothing to do, then check out a couple of the clips we have been digging this week!
The Australian MX Nationals is heating up, and round 2 kicks off next weekend! In the search for some videos and updates, we stumbled across a new Aussie website loaded with cool interviews and updates with all the top riders.
Our boy Tye Simmonds scored a bit of a good wrap, and you can see the rest of the interviews online at the website www.motoonline.com.au
The Unit MX Team had some solid results after round 1, but it is fair to say, all of the guys have higher hopes and potential then we got to see. Ford Dale scored a 12th overall in the Lites, while Luke Arbon only managed a 16th in the Lites, after scoring no points in 2 out of 3 of his races. Tye Simmonds managed the best result out of the team, with a 5th overall in the Opens, after a slow start Tye picked up his pace and bettered his result with each race. Robbie Marshall has also been putting in some solid time on the bike, and after a fairly solid SX season, he won't be stoked on his 18th overall in the Opens, and will definitely be looking to better that next weekend.
Racing is on next Sunday, and the only way to keep up to date if you can't make it to the track, is via the Fullnoise Live Feeed
