We would just like to wish Sincs the very best of luck this weekend!
Cam will attempt a double backflip tomorrow for the first time since he was critically injured last July.
Sinclair will attempt the feat as part of the Crusty Demons ‘Beyond the Apocolypes’ Tour stop in Darwin. The jump will mark Sinclair’s first official attempt since a sickening crash while competing in the Red Bull X Fighters in Madrid, Spain last July. Sinclair approached the take off too slowly, under rotating and suffering sever head and internal injuries.
The Victorian’s comeback to riding has been quite remarkable, with doctors amazed at his progress throughout. For Sinclair to be even considering a double flip again is a decision he has not taken lightly.
“For me I need to double flip again to prove to myself that I can do it and to achieve the goal I have set myself throughout my entire recovery. It has been a long road to get back to this point and I know I can land my 27th double flip.” Cam Sinclair said.
Preparation for this weekend’s jump has been an arduous task for Sinclair, battling poor weather conditions in his home town of Pearcedale.
“It’s been pouring rain at home on and off for the entire week. Last night we had a huge task to get everything set up at my foam pit to practise; by the time I was ready to ride it was pitch black. I did my first two practise jumps with only the lighting from a few cars to see where I was going. It was pretty scary, but thanks to all my ‘Southside’ friends who pitched in, we got a couple of jumps in and I’m ready to get the job done in Darwin.” Sinclair said.
