Jaie has been a man on a mission lately, and has been pushing himself harder than ever to learn new tricks. One of those was the Backflip Triple Tailwhip which you can see HERE, which has never been done before! Another is the massive Backflip Superman Seatgrab, which Jaie had pretty dialled, before having the horrific crash you see above! Jaie sent us an update on how he's going, and if you want to watch the full video of the crash, go HERE.
What up, guys? Over the past few days everyone has been wondering why there has been so many "get well" comments all over my Facebook. Well, I've been in the hospital.
I was learning a new trick, the Backflip Superman Seatgrab and when I took off the lip I missed my grab. I was just stuck upside-down and I couldn't get out of it, and ended up coming down on my head.
I wasn't able to move at all, which was pretty scary. I got stretchered out and rushed to the hospital and straight into the emergency room. Luckily I only ended up with a heap of pinched nerves in my neck and down the back of my spine. I was very lucky to walk out of that hospital and it was definitely the scariest moment I have had in my BMX career.
I'm taking a few days off the bike to recover, then I'll be straight back into it next week, learning as many new tricks as I can and getting all my stuff dialled before I head to Las Vegas for the last stop of Dew Tour. Wish me luck!
In 2010, Levi Sherwood has proven to be one of the best FMX riders in the world. Winning contests and displaying an unbelievable style of extension and flow on a motocross bike, he had left the competition behind, until an unfortunate crash left him with a broken leg and an outlook of 3 months on the sidelines!
We got to hang out with Levi only a week before that crash, and had the golden opportunity to film him in action at the incredible FMX facility formerly known as the Red Bull Compound.
Believe the hype, Levi Sherwood is bringing an exciting new style to FMX!

Kiwi FMX ripper Nick Franklin had a pretty turbulent start to the year with a multiple injuries, but once back on the bike he was straight back to good form and riding a swag of shows and demos all around the globe. He hit us up with an update and some stats of his travels...
In NZ earlier in the year i had some injuries, separated my shoulder then a month later my bike bogged and i broke 5 bones in my elbow and wrist so i didn't ride as many events as i wanted earlier in the year. Plus the Red Bull X fighters qualifying sessions which i was invited to was canceled from rain where i was aiming to do well. Lucky the rest of the year has been really good so here are my events and some of the stats...
- Red Bull X-Fighters jam at V8 Supercars, Hamilton - 40,000 crowd
- Red Bull X-Fighters jam at World Rally Championships, Auckland - 5000 crowd
- Erzberg Rodeo - 5000 crowd
- Red Bull X-Fighters jam in Bosnia, Banja Luka - 10,000 crowd
- Red Bull X-Fighters Jam, Peru - 10,000 crowd
- Monster Jam, Antwerp Belgium - 10,000 crowd
- Monster Jam, Birmingham England - 10,000 crowd
- Monster Jam, Arnham Holland - 70,000 crowd

The rest of the year is looking good with Red Bull X-Fighter jams in India and Turkey, and other events in England, Germany and Sweden! And of course NZ, including Monster Jam evets and Race of Champions.
I would like to take the time to thanks all my sponsors for their support and love!

To celebrate the launch of their new range of motocross graphics kits, Unit is giving away a kit a day through its Facebook page.
Unit has teamed up with Tasmanian-based graphics company MX Ink to manufacture several stylish designs for full-sized motocross models between 2005 and 2011.
As part of the launch, Unit and MX Ink are giving away a kit a day between Monday September 27 and Friday October 1. People can enter through Unit’s Facebook page, where they explain what bike they own and why they love riding.
The successful winner each day will have the choice of receiving either the History Black, History or Icon graphics kit for their late-model motocross race bike, as well has having their names and numbers included in the graphics. The three available kits can be viewed at www.mxink.com.au
Unit marketing manager Paul Everest says he’s excited about being able expand the company’s graphics kit range to encompass full-sized, late-model race bikes.
“We’ve listened to what our customers want, and are proud to be able to team up with a company such as MX Ink to bring these kits into fruition,” he says. “They look amazing and are of extremely high quality, and we have no doubt they’re going to be very popular with riders around the world.”
HOW TO ENTER

Dan Reardon is one of Australia's best MX racers, but since making the move to the USA, has not had a smooth run. Injuries have destroyed countless opportunities, and multiple team and class changes have not helped either. But the fact is he still has the speed to match it with the best, the real question is 'can he pull it together for a full season?'
We spent the day with Dan while he practiced at Pala recently, and sat him down at his USA home to ask the hard questions on why he hasn't maintained the results he was hoping for, why he has changed teams multiple times, what it is like for an Australian rider to make the move over to the USA and whether he plans to be riding another season in America next year.

How much do you really know about Levi Sherwood?? Everybody's favourite mechanic Monty sat him down after a ride session at the former Red Bull compound to find out all the dirt.

Crusty Demons' Harley Davidson Backflipper and Aussie FMX legend Kain Saul is in the process of switching brand allegiences... from Yamaha to Husqvarna.
No, it's not April Fools and yes, you did read correctly! Sauly spent the weekend testing Husky's TC250 four-stroke motocrosser in preparation for the Crusty Demons Thirst 4 Destruction Tour next month, and is more than little impressed with his new rig.
"It's definitely a good thing," he says. "It took me a while to get used to the power delivery because it works best at the top of the rev range, but it handles really well."
And the good thing about switching to Husky is should he require more power from the 250cc four-stroke engine, he can install a 310cc big-bore kit that is available through the manufacturer.
"If we put the 310 kit in it, I think it could possibly be one of the best bikes out there for FMX," he told us.
Going by the photos fellow Unit rider Joe Sheppard shot of Sauly ripping out at Boonah on the weekend, Sauly is definitely more than comfortable on his new ride already.
Nate Berkheimer had a rad little Birthday ride session yesterday TJ Lavins trails, and filmed the whole thing with a chest mounted GoPro camera. Check it out! It gives such a cool perspective.

Hey guys, David here.
Since my last update I have been busy, starting around a month ago in America I was riding heaps and Unit came to Greenville to film a new video. Jaie and I threw down for the camera, i'm stoked on all the clips i got and can't wait for that one to come out! After that I had about a week to go of my America trip, so i rode a bit more, but also hung out and partied a fair bit. Soaked up my last couple of days in america.
Now im back in Cairns, Australia, and for the first week back i had no bike! (cheers United Airlines) Haha. But now I have my bike, and a couple of mates had been busy while I was gone and have got a sweet set of dirt jumps running so I have been riding them heaps. Last weekend I went camping up at Tinaroo and went wakeboarding, aswell as a bit of creek jumping. It was real fun!
Anyways i'm just hanging out, working and catching up with friends and family back home, until some comps pop up in Aus later on in the year.
Laters,
Dave
VIDEO: Caroline Buchanan and the Australian BMX team try their hands at surfing... The results are not so good haha.
Coming down off a massive high of winning the MTB World Championships I hung the bike on the wall and got back on my brand new titanium Commencal BMX frame. Commencal are my mountain bike sponsor and have made a prototype BMX frame for me and its beautiful. Stiff, perfect angles, looks great and is super light weight.
Chula Vista Supercross track is the biggest track on the world cup circuit. The 1st jump is 13m long!! last year I didn't make it through the quarter finals and was quite intimidated by the track. This year I was more prepared and eager to race. I had a solid qualifying time trial run placing 5th which gave me some good world cup and Olympic country points for Australia.
Come race day I was trying to build off the energy of the crowd but found myself feeling a little flat. I qualified through the quarter final rounds progressing to the semi final top 16 where I made some costly minor mistakes not progressing into the final. Placing in the top 12 for me a disappointing result however I am still sitting in 2nd in the overall world cup ranking with one more round to go in Frejus France (3 weeks) My goal is to finish in the top 3 girls in the overall World Cup series.
Keep you posted :) CB

Unit's Chris Kovarik recently took the snowy hills of Whistler for the amazing Red Bull 5000 Down race. Chris is one of the toughest riders we know, and aside the fact he got a solid 3rd place, we just can't believe he did the whole thing in shorts! haha.
Red Bull have a full story on what went down below... Photos by Bryan Ralph and
On September 12th, 2010 the second installment of Red Bull 5000 Down showcased one hundred thirty-one riders sustaining constant physical and mental effort in order to maintain control during the entire descent. Tyler Morland from Whistler, BC and Junior DH World Champ Lauren Rosser from Squamish, BC took the first place in their respective category. International and local elite gathered at the snow peak of Whistler Mountain, in Whistler Blackcomb resort in British Columbia and descended more than 2,320m (12.3km) and a vertical drop of 1,503m (5,020 feet) at an average speed of 76km/h to cross the finish line in the Whistler Village.
Presented by RockShox, Red Bull 5000 Down is a mass start downhill mountain bike race featuring the greatest North American and European riders, including: Stevie Smith, who recently took sliver at the UCI Mountain Bike & Trials World Championships, MX1 National Pro Dusty Klatt, and Chris Kovarik, a multiple Australian national champion and multiple World Cup winner. Over the course of two days, both men and women battled side-by-side, dealing with 14cm of snow at the peak, rain, fatigue, broken bikes and navigating through muddy and dirt trails on the cloud-covered Whistler Mountain.
Qualifying Day
On Saturday, September 11th, qualifiers where held on the lower half of the course, which took place over the famous Garbanzo zone in the Whistler Bike Park. Once the qualifiers were completed, the riders’ destinies were determined based on their results and they were seeded in rows of ten for the mass start on Sunday. Keeping the fastest men and women at the front of the pack was key as the top half of this massive course would see riders reaching speeds of up to 80 km/h. After all the men and women made it down the course, it was Australia’s Chris Kovarik who took the fastest time with 13:14:95 minutes for the male category and Whistler, BC native Brook Baker clocked in at 16:13:93 for the women’s category.
Race Day
Riders uploaded to the Peak of Whistler where they began to take position in 14cm of snow and prepare for the mass start. A shotgun start had the competitors launch a 5,000 feet descent and intense bar-to-bar racing as they battled side-by-side. Proximity wasn’t the only challenge, as riders were also navigating through muddy and dirt trails riddled with jumps, stunts, drops and root-strewn terrain. After a challenging start with four inches of snow on the ground at the start and a descent on the cloudy-covered mountain, Chris Kovarik took the lead and wowed the crowd as he charged into the Garbanzo zone with a huge pack of racers chasing him. Hundreds of spectators cheered Morland as he crossed the finish line in the Whistler Village after 21:49:82 minutes. “I love winning, it’s hard to beat. It’s exciting lining up with your friends on the front line. I wouldn’t miss it for the world.”

Curtis Keene (USA) finished second with a time of 22:01:03 minutes and third place finisher Chris Kovarik (Australia) completed the race in 22:13:30 minutes. In the women’s category, Lauren Rosser from Squamish, BC clocked in at 27:31:59 minutes, followed by Whistler’s Brook Baker with 28:11:29 minutes and Fanny Paquette with 30:06:17 minutes. “I’ve never done anything like this before. When I got to the top I said, “there is two feet of snow – this is even better!” It was different but good, “ said Rosser.

Joe Sheppard has so much style on a dirt bike, and it was super extended double grab indy's like this that won him the Underground Tour last year. Not everything has gone to plan for the 2010 series however, and Joe needs a solid performance at the last round to have a hope of retaining his crown. Joe hit us up with this update on the 2010 series...
So far we're three rounds down with one to go, and I'm sitting third in points behind Luke Saunders and Adam Grope. We started off in Rockhampton, where the guys at Project FMX had put together an awesome course with back to back ramp hits, dirt hits and a 120ft ramp. The technical courses definately suit my style better, and I ended up in third place, although I stuffed my run in the final and probably should have done better.
Round two was out at Boonah, and the course was pretty basic with just the two 75ft ramp hits and a small 50ft ramp. I wasn't feeling too bad, although the boring courses really aren't my thing anymore. I ended up against round one winner Jason Royzski in the head to head rounds, and I decided to try a recliner to no hand lander as my first jump... probably wasn't a good idea as I ended up face first in the dirt. No major injuries, but I banged myself up a bit and was feeling pretty stiff for the next week or so! Even with my crash I managed a fifth place, so it wasn't a complete disaster.
The guys at Black Duck Valley hosted round three of the tour and they put together a simple but fun course with two downramps, one with a 75 and 85ft ramps, and the other with a 75ft ramp and a 65ft dirt hit. My shoulder and hip were still hurting from last weekends dirt nap, so I decided to keep my runs pretty safe and basic and try to get in as many tricks as I could in the 90 seconds. I qualified okay in fourth, but just got beaten by Gropes in the head to heads so I ended up in fifth position. Not what I was after, but considering how I was feeling it wasn't too shabby.
The last round is on October 2nd in Gympie, and I'm keen to step it up and get a good result up there. Zac McKenzie has an awesome course, and I think there will be some cool technical stuff I can do up there which will work in my favour. Well I hope so anyway. I'm still only six points down on Revy in the standings, so I'm not gonna give up on defending my Underground Tour title just yet.
I'll let you all know how it goes!
Cheers
Joe
Things are really starting to heat up right now, with the worlds biggest and craziest MTB contest 'Red Bull Rampage' going down next weekend. Units own kelly McGarry was lucky enough to score an invite. Here is some updates and information for the contest...
Watch it line online at Pink Bike - 12 Noon PST, October 3 or 5am Australia time October 4
Course preview - Check out some drawings and pics from this years course
Kelly McGarry Blog - Stay tuned to Kelly's personal blog for updates and photos as they happen.
Unit also have some big news on it's way, and are proud to be announcing more and more MTB involvement over the coming months.
Kelly Mc hit us up in the last few days, with a blog regarding his preperations for Rampage and what he has been up to, so check it out...
HI, Kelly McGarry here.
Since last time you heard from me I've been up to all sorts of shinanigans, I'm living up here in Whistler BC, Canada. Definitely worse places to find yourself stuck! Me, my girl and a couple of mates are renting a sweet pad right next to the chairlift so i have been thrashing the mountain on a regular basis! The summer is coming to an end and there is a bit more rain about so the trails are sick.
I went to Alaska at the end of August for a 10 day filming and shooting trip with the Gravity team, it was so good out there. We flew into Fairbanks and 1st stop was wallmart to get some supplys for the mountains, the rest of the team were getting pretty serious with Grizzly bear defence. With most people opting for bear spray I opted for a $1 whistle and a large machette.. haha. The Grizzlys didn't stand a chance!
We found some pretty cool stuff to ride in the zone we had been researching and we built some more stuff to shred with world class photographer Harookz and filmer Don Hampton there to capture everthing, so look out for some more cool stuff to be coming out in mags and on the web over the next few months. One of the highlights for me was seeing the northern lights blazing... Insane green and red solar flares swirling and bending in night sky. Trippy SH*T!
Alaska is an amazing place, big mountains, lakes, rivers, and big wildlife, I was blowin away. I definitely want to head back there.
The riding in Alaska was a good lead up for my next big event the Red Bull Rampage in the Utah desert which is scheduled for oct 1-3rd, I am pumped for it. A good finish could land me in the top ten in the FMB freeride world tour as I am sitting in 14th right now, so I will be SENDING IT out there trying to do well!..
You can view all the pics from my trip here to Alaska HERE, and also check out this video the good dudes down at UNIT clothing put together of me riding bikes in New Zealand.
Cheers
Kelly

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 2 - Frankston Skate Park - 12noon
The event has been created out of necessity, Fletcher Blu, 9 years old was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in August of 2009. Instead of sitting on his hands waiting for someone else to raise the money needed to find a cure for this chronic illness which effects over 140,000 Australians, he has proactively wanted to do something.
Putting his love of BMX with the life saving fight for a cure of type 1 diabetes was a no brainer. Fletcher has said ‘I am so excited to meet my favorite riders in Nick Cooper and Cam Pinata, I really can’t believe they are coming so far just to help me raise money so one day I no longer have blood tests every two hours and two insulin injections every day. I hope they realize that this day actually is helping to extend my life and save the lives of countless others’.
The Jam is very lucky to have exceptional support from sponsors; Unit, Pilgrim BMX , Colony BMX, LKI, Sealy’s Cycles, Dirty Pumper, Monster Energy, Magneto Designs, Mel Ransom Events & Bilko22.com.
Riders are invited to register online or on the day from 12noon. Spectator entry is free, sausage sizzle, drinks and raffle tickets will be on sale on the day. All proceeds will be donated to the JDRF Walk for a Cure.

New Zealand's South Island has been getting hammered by a huge storm this past week, and as well as wreaking havoc on livestock in the high country, it's also transformed much of the area into a winter wonderland.
Check out what Dan and Brett Frew's farm - the site of the Farm Jam - looks like at the moment. The boys won't need to head to Cardrona's Snow Park any time soon; they've practically got it in their back yard.
Brett Frew said this little dump didn't stick around for long, but another biterly cold southerly front about to smash the South Island later today is expected to bring snow to near sea level, meaning the boys could see a repeat of this sight by tomorrow morning.
Time to wax those boards, lads!

What a difference six months can make. Top: The Farm Jam course the day of the contest in March. Bottom: how the same course it looked yesterday.

Photo: Jaie Toohey blasts a backflip double whip over the last set at Dew Tour.
What up guys?
I just finished up another good few weeks here in the USA. I had had Simon and Allan from Unit come over to Greenville, we hit all the spots in Greenville and got some good riding and allot of filming for my new edit, that should be coming out sometimes soon. But of course on my last trick of the night, I over cleared the box jump backwards, knocked myself and went for little a sleep on the ground. I took few days off riding, then straight back into it. I put my head down and learnt a whole bunch of new tricks.
This past weekend we have been in Salt Lake City for the Dew Tour. Dirt qualifying was Thursday night I wasn’t really stressing it, because I had learnt some new tricks and had been working my ass of back in Greenville riding. But then first run I messed up on a superman flip, 2nd run comes around and just before I dropped in I said to myself “I’m either crashing bad or I’m making finals”. So I dropped in and everything worked, then I hit the last jump with a backflip double whip and landed it. I was so happy and then I sat in 2nd the whole of qualifying until the last few riders and ended up qualifying 4th. But that still meant I was in the finals.
I woke up Saturday morning, the day of finals, and it was so windy and scary. We all have a meeting not to ride and push the contest back, but we couldn’t because it was live TV. So everyone sucked it up and just got out there. So then I drop in for my first run and crash a flip double whip, 2nd run and I crashed the same trick again. Then 3rd run I thought I’d just put a good run together, so I did and ended up 8th. Not that bad for crashing first 2 runs. Now that Salt Lake is over, I’m back home to Greenville to put my head down again for the next 3 weeks and get ready for the last stop in Las Vegas. I’m ranked 8th overall in the Dew Tour dirt standings, so lets see if I can bump my ranking up bit more.
Cheers
TransWorld Shadow was all over the place last weekend at Pala Raceway. In this episode, they follow around Unit team rider Broc Tickle at the last round of the Lucas Oil AMA Motocross Championship. Broc is fresh back from injury, and riding really well. He ended the weekend with a 5-9 and an 8th overall.
Red Bull have been working closely with Mat Rebeaud this season, to produce an amazing video series following Mat and his life. Part 2 is above and part 3 is below...
"PART 2 - A season which couldn't have started worse: In its preparation Mat crashed heavily. Intense training with a personal coach and the construction of a new foam pit helped Mat on his way back. In this episode we see Mat riding at his home event in Estavayer-le-Lac – a picturesque place at the Lake Neuchâtel in the heart of French speaking Switzerland. Mat always uses this event as an opportunity to invite many riders from abroad so that they get to know his home. Amongst many others Levi Sherwood was over and stayed for some training sessions with Mat right away."
"PART 3 - Pro FMX rider Mat Rebeaud has no ordinary life. In this installment of "My Way" he reveals how his father was a major influence on his chosen sport and what in turn his father goes through whilst watching his son train and perform."
Ride BMX whipped up this video off all the action from the BMX Dirt prelims at the Dew Tour today. Unit athlete Jaie Toohey threw it down and qualified 4th, so we will see him going big on Sunday (Aus time). Unit's Nate Berkheimer also rode really well, but only recently getting over a dislocated shoulder, he held back a bit.
The finals will be at 7am Sunday morning. (Aus time)

The next issue of Freerider MX is due to hit the stands on September 22, and Unit's own Levi Sherwood scored the cover with one of his super extended dead body flips. The snap was taken at X Games earlier in the year where Levi came home with a silver medal, only behind TP199. Here is what the FRMX crew have to say about the issue...
"Freerider MX #63 is loaded to the brim this month with everything from the world of FMX. We’ve got the 10 defining moments from X Games 16, 2010, where the Australasian invasion was in full effect and saw a swagger of medals for our hero’s from Down Under. Dayne Kinnaird, who was once Australia’s greatest FMX rider and killing it on the international scene, breaks the silence on a why his FMX career ended, talks about drugs and his divorce and what he’s doing now. On top of all that we’ve got two globe trotting features from South Africa and Japan where our esteemed photog Ricky Monti ventured into the unknown to see how FMX is done in different parts of the world. We also caught up with Bilko, Sincs and the Southside crew in Melbourne to find out what it's like to be a part of Australia's tightest crew of riding mates. You can also win a gear pack from AXO and EKS brand goggles just for subscribing. So, check it all out in newsagents from September 22."

That's right! FMX is back at the Dew Tour after almost 2 years on hiatus, and with a bit of luck it will be sticking around for a full season next year. This can only mean good news for all the riders and fans, who have been only left with 2 major contests (X-Fighters and X Games) since the Dew Tour unexpectedly pulled the plug on FMX at the end of 2008.
Admittedly, this weekends rundown of riders is a bit slim thanks to so many injuries and prior commitments, but there will still be some quality riders, and perhaps the lack of big names (Bilko, Sherwood, Maddo, Adams) will present some more opportunity for the up and comers. Adam Jones and Mike Mason will headline, accompanied by Twitch, Faisst, Adelberg, Higashino and Jim McNeil. For a full report on this weeknds FMX comp, head over to ESPN.COM/ACTION.
In other Dew Tour news, it is going to be the 2nd last of the year for the BMX guys, and Unit team riders Jaie Toohey and Nate Berkheimer will be on hand to rep the Unit flag. Nate is fresh back from injury, so it will be interesting to see how he handles the contest, but he is very very consistent and if he is riding, then chances are good that he will be throwing it all down. Jaie Toohey has been riding awesome all year, but has had a bit of tough luck. He is coming near the end of his 2010 USA stay, so he will be keen to prove a point and step up his game this time around. Fellow team rider Cam White is out with injury, and will be coming back to Australia in the coming weeks, to continue his recovery and begin work on the 2011 Hillside Dirtjam. David Girsch has also had a great year in the USA, but due to Visa issues he has been forced back to Australia, and will miss the rest of the Dew Tour.
Stay tuned to the Unit blog and Facebook for regular updates, and also the Alli Sports webpage for videos and more.

Unit athlete Aaron 'Wheelz' Fotheringham recently nailed the world's first double backlfip on a wheelchair, after many crashes and attempts. You may have already seen the video online, but we thought we would share these videos from worldwide news programs CNN and the Today Show, who have brought Aaron's amazing achievement to the mass public.
Congratulations again Aaron!

It seems Unit's awesome Summer 1 range has only been on shelves a couple of weeks, but our hot new Summer 2 range is just around the corner, with the first few boxes of Syca, Glen Helen and Glory tees arriving in our warehouse first thing this morning.
If you thought the Summer 1 line was sweet, you ain't seen nothin' yet! Unit's High Summer 2010 arrives in stores on November 1, so stay tuned...!

Northstar Yamaha and Unit rider Robbie Marshall has won the Speed & Style competition at Robbie Maddison’s Red Bull XRay in Picton, NSW on the weekend.
In his first freestyle comp since the 2006 King Of The Coast, Marshall beat Japan’s Taka Higashino and racer Dan McCoy for the prize. Fellow Unit rider Tye Simmonds finished the Speed & Style comp in fourth place.
“It was such a fun event,” Marshall says. “They reckon about 20,000 people turned up to watch, and the natural-terrain course was amazing to ride. Maddo did a great job of putting it together.”
Marshall came straight to the comp from Broken Hill, where he was filming as a stunt double for the new Mad Max movie due out in either 2011 or 2012.
The Red Bull XRay is an annual contest organised by Aussie legend Robbie Maddison, and sees the country's best racers pitted against the finest freestyle and freeriders around a natural-terrain course designed by Maddo himself. This year five Unit riders were invited, including Marshall, Simmonds, Matt Schubring, Kain Saul and Luke Arbon.

Our good buddy Cam White just sent us this sweet piece of work created by Las Vegas shredder "Brakeless" Billy Beddow. Brakeless took home a piece of wood from the old Lav's Lab drop-off and made a rad little piece of artwork out of it.

One side is dedicated to The Yard (BMXer TJ Lavin's park), while the middle Lav's Lab logo acts as a jigsaw puzzle connecting to the Unit site.

In the background Brakeless has gone all-out with a full sketch of the park, complete with roll-in, jumps, resi mat and viewing deck.

But one of the coolest parts is Brakeless's little dedication to Unit on the back of the mural. We're so pumped to have some of the world's best BMX dirt jumpers stoked on Unit and how we're pushing the dirt scene. Thanks for the love, guys!
Stay tuned for a super-cool video of the Las Vegas BMX scene we're going to release in the next couple of weeks.

Unit’s X Games FMX silver medallist, Levi Sherwood, is facing three months of PS3 time after breaking his femur and fracturing his wrist at the ASA FMX World Championships at Pomona, CA last Saturday.
The 18-year-old's crash has destroyed his hopes of beings a contender for the 2010 Red Bull X-Fighters crown, with the final round in Rome slated for October 1.
Levi’s manager, Russ Stratton, says doctors inserted a rod and two screws to repair the femur, but no surgery was required on the wrist. Within 48 hours he was out of bed and walking with the aid of a walker, and was discharged from hospital on this morning.
His doctor, Paul Reiman, relayed a positive prognosis and expects Levi will be back on a bike in three months’ time.
All the best for the recovery, cuz!

We just received an email from BMX legend Cam White with an update on his knee injury. Check it out.
The past few weeks I’ve had a fair few visitors in town, which has definitely helped me get off the couch and taken my mind of my knee injury. If you hadn’t heard I tore my meniscus a few weeks ago, so I’ve had to sit the rest of the year out dealing with that and my already torn ACL.
The Unit boys rolled in to Vegas a few days after my surgery. It was awesome kicking it with them, but it was pretty uncomfortable being out and about so fresh off surgery and on pain meds.
After they left my mate from Australia, “Little Chris” Harty, flew in and hung out and shredded Lav’s yard for a few days, then Cam Pianta's parents, Brian and Chris, also stopped by for a few days.
Not long after they left, the Unit boys returned and I was feeling a lot better this time. I was off the pain pills and it was easier for me to do some fun stuff with them.
Since all our visitors have left I’ve been getting stuck into rehab. I can now bend it 104 degrees on the machine, but my quad muscle hurts a lot when it gets stretched out. In a week from today I’ll be able to finally bend my leg on my own, and in another three weeks I’ll be walking with my leg locked in the knee-brace to help build my quad.
I can’t wait to be able to bend it on my own. We head back to Australia on September 23rd, and I’m looking forward to getting home, hanging out, building new stuff at my jumps and getting ready for Cam’s Jam in February. See you soon!
At the recent Washougal round of the 2010 AMA Outdoors, Pro Lites rider Broc Tickle broke his collarbone and cast shadows over the remainder of his MX season. Luckily, after finding the right doctor and getting surgery, Broc trained hard and has got back to strength faster than he could have expected.
We caught up with Broc only a few days after he was back on the bike, and you would hardly notice a difference. We also took the time to ask Broc about his 2010 season, including his first career win in Seattle, his injury and recovery, and plans into the future.

Yesterday we got the terrible news that Levi Sherwood had crashed out of the ASA World FMX Championships in Los Angeles. We don't have alot of details right now, but it seems Levi has dislocated his wrist and broken his femur.
Levi seems in high spirits though, and we are sure he will back to strength soon. Good luck with recovery buddy. On a lighter note, Mike Mason ended up winning the event for the 2nd year in a row. Congrats Mike!

Caroline Buchanan found a gap in her intense BMX schedule to compete in the MTB World Cup this last weekend at Saint Mont in Canada, and the efforts paid off, as she walked away with her 2nd MTB 4X World Cup Title!
Congratulations Caroline!

For the final stop of the Unit USA Tour, we headed back to Vegas to finish some unfinished business, and things couldn’t have gone better! On our first effort in Vegas, basically everybody was injured or unavailable, so we spent most of the time checking out the sites with Unit riders Cam White and Nate Berkheimer. It was still a hell of a good time, but we weren’t able to get any real banger ride footage.
TJ Lavin was back on the bike this time around, and had some special visitors to join in on his backyard BMX session. It was a crazy day hanging with the guys including Lavs, Chris Harti, Anthony Napolitan, Cam White, Brakeless Billy and the rest of the Vegas locals.

The weather was perfect for the session, a bit to hot during the day, but the guys made up for it by riding early in the morning, and late in the evening. TJ’s backyard is one of the most famous sets of trails in the world, so it was a real honour to film and hang out there. It is a crazy setup, jammed into TJ’s backyard, made up of 4-5 lines that all meet at a berm that shoots you along a final set of jumps back towards the roll-in. Basically you drop in and pick your line, ride it all the way to the end and walk straight back up the stairs for another go.

We would just like to say a big thanks to TJ Lavin and the rest of the Vegas locals. Without all of you we wouldn’t have had so much fun, and awesome stuff to film. We can’t wait to get back!

After yet another big day of travel from Boston to Greenville, we finally arrived at the tiny 2 bedroom unit of David Girsch and Jaie Toohey that they call home along with a swag of other young Aussie BMX riders on their first trip to Greenville. It is an amazing town, and some would even say the home of BMX in America. It has helped produce countless amazing riders, and is the home of the famous indoor parks built by Ryan Nyquist and Dave Mirra.

Photo: David Girsch takes Ryan Guettlers hire scooter to Dave Mirras 'Warehouse' for an early morning film shoot.
It really is an Aussie invasion in Greenville, and during multiple film shoots at 'The Unit' and 'The Warehouse', international riders were easily out numbered by young, eager Aussie riders ready to make a name for themselves. Andrew 'Mini' Ahumanda was once such rider, and actually won the Greenville leg of the Freeflow Tour, with an incredible including a 360 triple downside whip.
These guys throw themselves in the deepend for their time in America, and basically just live day to day with money and accomodation. But they will tell you that it is worth all the effort for the experience. David Girsch is one great example of a firt timer, and the amount his riding has progressed since arriving in Greenville is incredible!

Photo: 5 guys in a 2 bedroom unit is beyond a joke. But when money is tight and you don't have any family around, the Aussies stick together, and help out whoever is in need.
We were lucky enough to spend 2 days in Greenville, filming and doing some photos with David Girsch and Jaie Toohey, and the result were amazing! We watched all the guys ride at 'The Unit', 'The Warehouse' and 'Jaycee' skatepark, and the result was astonishing. We last saw these guys shredding in Australia, and both have stepped their game up majorly.
We are looking forward to putting together their edits, and look forward to getting back over their in the future! Special thanks to Colin Mackay, Ryan Nyquist and Dave Mirra for hooking us up while in Greenville, and letting us film at their amazing spots.

Sup guys? It’s been a busy few weeks. I was up in Gold Coast, finishing off my new big jumps, Unit hooked me up at Shuie's place and we tested the first few out. They were the biggest jumps I’ve hit in my life and they felt awesome. I wasn’t sure about the speed for the 50footer because I’ve never hit a jump that size before, so I had to give it a go. I came up a few feet short and pin dropped into the back of the landing! It was a massive impact which left me with a black eye and cut above it, as well as a massive dead arm, but I was lucky not to break my legs.
I was to sore to hit again that day, so we called it to see how I felt the next day. I was way to sore so we drove home to Umina beach where I live.
Had a few days at home and it was off to France just like that, I was planning a trip with Pattric Guimez weeks before while on a trip to Germany, to come ride his contest and a few other fun events and trails here in France, so here I am chilling in the South of France, riding and surfing with Pattric Guimez, Marcus Hampil, TJ Ellis and Mike ‘Hucker’ Clarke.
We had the Lords Of Dirt contest last weekend, it was a fun set up with a curve wall ride at one end to bring you back. All the Euro riders rode so well, I just did what I could on the jumps and didn’t really push it. I knew TJ and a few others were going to destroy these jumps. It was a one run intro then a 45min jam. They were real fun so this was a good way to have the contest. I ended up getting 4th, so I was stoked. 1st went to Ben Wallace, 2nd TJ Ellis, 3rd Hucker, 4th myself and 5th Colin Mackay.

We do a show this weekend with the boys 7hrs from here, and I’m here for another 4 weeks riding a box jump contest, the ‘Rebel jam’ and ‘Vans Kill The Line’ at some sweet trails. Then back home to Australia to jump these big jumps again. Keep you posted, cheers…
