Jam For A Cure Ready To Go

Jam For A Cure Ready To Go

Tuesday 21 September 2010

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 2 - Frankston Skate Park - 12noon

The event has been created out of necessity, Fletcher Blu, 9 years old was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in August of 2009. Instead of sitting on his hands waiting for someone else to raise the money needed to find a cure for this chronic illness which effects over 140,000 Australians, he has proactively wanted to do something.

Putting his love of BMX with the life saving fight for a cure of type 1 diabetes was a no brainer. Fletcher has said ‘I am so excited to meet my favorite riders in Nick Cooper and Cam Pinata, I really can’t believe they are coming so far just to help me raise money so one day I no longer have blood tests every two hours and two insulin injections every day. I hope they realize that this day actually is helping to extend my life and save the lives of countless others’.

The Jam is very lucky to have exceptional support from sponsors; Unit, Pilgrim BMX , Colony BMX, LKI, Sealy’s Cycles, Dirty Pumper, Monster Energy, Magneto Designs, Mel Ransom Events & Bilko22.com.

Riders are invited to register online or on the day from 12noon. Spectator entry is free, sausage sizzle, drinks and raffle tickets will be on sale on the day. All proceeds will be donated to the JDRF Walk for a Cure.
