Jaie Toohey In The Hospital

Thursday 30 September 2010

Jaie has been a man on a mission lately, and has been pushing himself harder than ever to learn new tricks. One of those was the Backflip Triple Tailwhip which you can see HERE, which has never been done before! Another is the massive Backflip Superman Seatgrab, which Jaie had pretty dialled, before having the horrific crash you see above! Jaie sent us an update on how he's going, and if you want to watch the full video of the crash, go HERE.

What up, guys? Over the past few days everyone has been wondering why there has been so many "get well" comments all over my Facebook. Well, I've been in the hospital.

I was learning a new trick, the Backflip Superman Seatgrab and when I took off the lip I missed my grab. I was just stuck upside-down and I couldn't get out of it, and ended up coming down on my head.

I wasn't able to move at all, which was pretty scary. I got stretchered out and rushed to the hospital and straight into the emergency room. Luckily I only ended up with a heap of pinched nerves in my neck and down the back of my spine. I was very lucky to walk out of that hospital and it was definitely the scariest moment I have had in my BMX career.

I'm taking a few days off the bike to recover, then I'll be straight back into it next week, learning as many new tricks as I can and getting all my stuff dialled before I head to Las Vegas for the last stop of Dew Tour. Wish me luck!

VIDEO: Levi Sherwood California FMX Session

Thursday 30 September 2010

In 2010, Levi Sherwood has proven to be one of the best FMX riders in the world. Winning contests and displaying an unbelievable style of extension and flow on a motocross bike, he had left the competition behind, until an unfortunate crash left him with a broken leg and an outlook of 3 months on the sidelines!

We got to hang out with Levi only a week before that crash, and had the golden opportunity to film him in action at the incredible FMX facility formerly known as the Red Bull Compound.

Believe the hype, Levi Sherwood is bringing an exciting new style to FMX!
