Cam Pianta update

Thursday 21 April 2011

First off I'm totally over this whole "getting dark early" business. As far as I'm concerned there are two seasons to the year. Summer and Winter and that's it. Daylight Savings ending means it's winter.

But anyways enough of my useless rant. Last month has been pretty busy for me; I ended up getting asked by John Buultjens at Pilgrim if I could get something shot on street for the new Pilgrim BMX ad. I'm not really being a street guy, but I went out a bunch of times to see if I could make it happen. Street dudes are troopers !The amount of times the spot was either shut down by people being there or me getting broke off made me think it was never going to happen. It literally took us two weeks and a bunch of different spots and a dislocated bone in my hand to get it done and have something usable. I'm so stoked that it turned out alright and we got the shot. Thanks to Sam Waite for being the shutter guy!

Since my jeans just recently released one of the local stores in my hometown asked me if I would like to do a instore signing and organised with Unit to get the day happening. I felt a little shy doing something like this in my hometown, as I'm sure heaps of people still think of me as a ratty 15-year-old roaming the streets hah.. But heaps of kids came along and hung out which was great!!

Unit also gave me a bunch of posters and stuff to give away so everybody was stoked! It's a pretty surreal feeling finally seeing my jeans in store after talking about them for so long! A big thanks goes out to One Zach Benalla and the team there for having me in. It was definitely a bunch of fun!

That afternoon a long-time mate of mine, Mitchell Stafford, was back home and asked me if i would mind helping him out for a folio piece he was working on for Uni. I was super keen to shoot a 1ft Euro on the 6ft quarter in Benalla, so we headed down and got it done. Basically the whole montage shows me turning up getting ready and riding and then leaving aswell. I thought it came up sweet, so I thought I would include it.

And I guess that's about it at the moment - Easter is on the way so that should be a good time away and hopefully you all get some riding or fun in over the long break! Next week I think i will be shooting some photos with Stevie McCann; I'm pretty pumped on that as well!

Alright until next time Go ride
