Farm Jam 2010 - This Weekend!

After a successful 2009 event, Farm Jam 2010 is stepping up a notch to become the premier bike jumping event in New Zealand.

Despite being plagued by wind, the 2009 event attracted crowds of up to 2000, and caught the attention of local and Australasian media.

While the riding was limited due to wind, the talent shone through.

The introduction of the Australian riders to the mix of Pro FMX raised the bar and this year, athletes will be traveling to NZ from around the world, as Farm Jam gains International recognition.

"With the help of our amazing sponsors we have stepped everything up this year, and we are very excited about it," says organiser Dan Frew.

"Unit Clothing from Australia, have continued their unparalleled support bringing some huge sponsorship and also bringing some big name riders over the ditch to compete at the Jam.

"This year we have also aligned with Red Bull, the involvement with these two companies has helped us take 'Farm Jam' to the world!"

Events will include:

Unit FMX - An FMX competition involving a 12 jump circuit of all dirt jumps, as well as two steel ramps in place for those who want to throw backflips in their runs!

Unit MX Race - For the first time Farm Jam is running a Motocross race though not in its traditional form. Head to Head style racing around the Jump circuit means one lap races with two riders, going for it!

Protec BMX and Gravity MTB - A wealth of NZ's best BMX and Mountain Bike talent is congregating this year to test out the new lines at the farm. A totally new line of jumps has been constructed.

Reaper / Pitster Pro Pitbike Racing - Racing around the main FMX track, obviously not over the ramps.

Jim Beam Best Trick - Best Trick means best trick of the whole Jam.

Slide Best Style - Farm Jam is all about making yourself and the park look good, so ride with style!

Also included this year is the new jump over the hill, reaching out to a 150 foot.

"We have 12 riders lined up, four of whom are coming over from Australia to compete, as well as NZ's best available talent - You might have heard of Levi Sherwood and Nick Franklin?" says Dan.

Farm Jam is organised, captured, ridden, and judged by the riders.

It's a huge collaboration of the Freestyle Bike Industry from around Australasia and March 6, 2010 will showcase everything that is the Southern Freeriders.
